Synopsis (Goodreads):
Within the brotherhood, Rhage is the vampire with the strongest appetites. He's the best fighter, the quickest to act on his impulses, and the most voracious lover-for inside him burns ferocious curse cast by the Scribe Virgin. Owned by this dark side, Rhage fears the time when his inner dragon is unleashed, making him a danger to everyone around him.

Mary Luce, a survivor of many hardships is unwittingly thrown into the vampire world and reliant to Rhage's protection. With a life-threatening curse of her own, Mary is not looking for love. She lost her faith in miracles years ago. But when Rhage's intense animal attraction turns into something more emotional, he knows that he must make Mary his alone. And while their enemies close in, Mary fights desperately to gain life eternal with the one she loves...
My Thoughts:  I'm not going to lie here, I liked book 1, Dark Lover.  I enjoyed Wrath and Beth's story to the extreme but from the first time I met the other members of the Brotherhood, I had been fascinated in a way that isn't healthy by those big, enigmatic men.  Scarred, cursed, broken, hurting... they're like Kelly-crack!  Damn them.

This book didn't sway that strange obsession in the least.  Those damn brothers have crawled into my head and they're not getting out until they're good and ready.  All of them, guys.  Every single one of them are stuck in my head in all their flawed glory.  It's getting really crowded up there.

As for this book, the farther I read the less I could see a way for Rhage and Mary to have a happily ever after.  Between Rhage's beast and Mary's illness I thought they'd have to throw in the towel and call it a day.  Thank goodness I'm not the one writing these.  You all would have been disappointed.

This is one book I couldn't put down.  In fact, as soon as I finished it I had book 3 in my hand.  I think it was after midnight at that point and I just couldn't NOT read the next.  Isn't that just awesome.

  2. You know how I felt about this one. I'm beginning to really hate that Scribe Virgin. It's been a while since a book has really made me tear up and this one did. I'm starting Lover Awakened this afternoon and I'm sure I won't be able to put it down either. Zsadist is pulling my heart strings already and I haven't even started. Thanks to your review of Dark Lover, I;m officially hooked :)

  3. I can't really say how much I loved reading this book. It was gripping and mind blowing. Danger and Sexy scenes with alot of hold your breath moments. Wrath is about the most strongest vampire hero character with a huge self damanging past. He's sexy, strong, and very twisted inner feelings. You see him as a kickass and ask questions later! (which I love!!) and he not only falls in love with human he swears to protect, but he hates himself for all of his flaws.
