Synopsis (Goodreads):
The grave is one wrong step away.

Having narrowly averted an (under)world war, Cat Crawfield wants nothing more than a little downtime with her vampire husband, Bones. Unfortunately, her gift from New Orleans' voodoo queen just keeps on giving--leading to a personal favor that sends them into battle once again, this time against a villainous spirit.

Centuries ago, Heinrich Kramer was a witch hunter. Now, every All Hallows Eve, he takes physical form to torture innocent women before burning them alive. This year, however, a determined Cat and Bones must risk all to send him back to the other side of eternity--forever. But how do you kill a killer who's already long dead?
My Thoughts:  This probably won't come as a shock to anyone but I really love this series.  I just love it to pieces.  I want to hug it and kiss it and call it George.  But I won't.  Because that would be weird.  Right?  Weird.  I still love the series, though, and this book didn't disappoint me in the least.  In fact, I feel like it's opened up a whole new can of worms for poor Cat and Bones.  I think the next big bad guy should be a phalanx of suited government officials with fire in their eyes (not literally) and a stack of  forms that need to  be completed in triplicate.

I'm getting ahead of myself, aren't I?

Right.  I still firmly believe that one of the biggest draws of this series is the relationship between Cat and Bones.  Bones is so unreservedly in love with Cat and she with him.  Bones has no issues with the level of her power.  Cat knows about his rather... let's say, promiscuous past.  She's not thrilled with it but she knows that he's with her and he's not looking at anyone else.  I honestly love their relationship.  At one point, they're asked which of the two of them is stronger and Bones says, without a trace of jealousy, that Cat is.  When she frets about this, he assures her that he doesn't have a problem with it.  He's secure enough in his masculinity to be proud that she has the power to defend herself and others.

I LOVE THIS GUY!

As for the A plotline of this book: well, it turns out that Heinrich Kramer is a ghost that I love to hate.  He's a jackass, really.  A big, nasty, murderous jackass.  Being a ghost, he's extremely difficult to get rid of.  Who knew?!?  Cat and Bones have to work hard at this one while simultaneously dealing with some great set up for later books.

As always, I adore Bones' vampire friends and the introduction of Tyler was FABULOUS!  Anybody who mentally tells Cat she's a cockblocker gets bonus points in my book for the funny!

Action packed and often bloody, this was an excellent jump back into Cat and Bones' world.  If you're not reading this series, you're seriously missing out on one of the most outstanding couples to ever grace the pages of a supernatural book.  *loves them hard*
