Review: It Happened One Bite (Regency Vampyre trilogy #1) by Lydia Dare

Synopsis (Goodreads):
From a castle in the rugged Scottish Highlands to the glittering salons of Edinburgh high society, the playground for the rich, titled and undead will never be the same when ultra-correct gentleman vampire Lord Kettering and feisty witch Blaire Lindsay make sparks fly.
My Thoughts: I went into this book expecting a light, fluffy read.  It sounded intriguing but I didn't think it would blow me away.  However, I really, really ended up liking James.  His reaction to Blaire was hilarious.  I loved when he'd go to seduce her or enthrall her and end up completely enraptured by her scent or smile.  It made me grin like a stupid person every single time.

Now, I'm not wrong in thinking that while this is a new series, it ties in with the Westfield Wolves series, right?  And I feel a little lame for asking that because, after doing a little research, I see that Benjamin Westfield was the main character in book 2 of that series.  So, yeah.  New series but tied to the other.  Nice.  Now, the good news is that I haven't read all of the WW series (okay, fine! I've only read the 1st) but I wasn't lost in the least with this book.

As I said before, James got me good.  His reactions, thoughts, yearning for Blaire were so damn cute.  I just wanted to pinch his cheeks and pat him on the head.  Then he started with the kissing and I had to fan myself a bit.  That vamp can kiss.  Of course, he had a very willing partner.  Blaire jumped in with both feet and guns blazing and all those other things that people do.  She got a taste and she wanted more.  I appreciate that in a woman made to wear long skirts and lots of layers.

I ended up having a good time reading this book.  It was fun.  It was sexy.  It had vampires. Win/win/win.
