Review: Seduce by Felicity Heaton

Seduce (Vampire Erotic Theatre #3) by Felicity Heaton
Synopsis (Goodreads):
Bloodlust runs in his veins, a dark master waiting for the day it will reign over him. Now a woman with a pure soul and wicked intentions has him in her sights and is determined to crack the ice around his heart, and she might save or damn him.

Antoine stands apart from the world around him, a dangerous and broken soul who must maintain rigid control at all times or risk his dark addiction finally seizing hold of him. The shadows of his past haunt him and he sees his bleak future each night when his brother wakes screaming, his blood addiction turning him savage. He cannot allow himself to feel, but when Sera walks into Vampirerotique, the erotic theatre he runs with three other vampires, to audition, she awakens dangerous desires in him—hungers that could spell the end of both of them.

Sera has wanted Antoine since the night she first saw the gorgeous aristocrat vampire. She can’t ignore the deep carnal hunger he stirs in her or the ache to know the heat of his touch. With the help of her sire, an ex-performer at Vampirerotique, she sets in motion a game of seduction, one designed to thaw the ice in Antoine’s veins and make him burn for her.

When Sera discovers the shocking truth about his past and the darkness that lurks within him, will she be strong enough to seize his heart with both hands and win him forever or will she lose him to the ghosts that still haunt him?
My Thoughts: I really, really enjoy this series. The stories are the perfect length for a quick and sexy vampire fix - midday or late at night - and yet I never feel like we're shorted on character development.

This time around, we're given insight into Antoine and the darkness that both he and Snow battle. I'm not going to lie, when Snow's book rolls around I'll be jumping for joy. But this is Antoine's story and it's a good one. Antoine's tormented (which makes him a wonderfully delectable character) - he's scarred by a tragic event in his past, he's had his heart broken and he's nearly lost his brother to the bloodlust more times than he can count. Yet, Sera moves him. She unthaws him little by little until he's drowning in his feelings for her.

I absolutely loved every single Snow interaction - from his blood crazed side to the way he's calmed by a female to the weight that continually living puts on him. His relationship with Antoine was sad and perfect and I adored how quickly he saw that Sera was such a balm to Antoine's soul.

I'm looking forward to seeing how the newest players fit into the Vampirerotique world and waiting impatiently for the time when Snow's story rolls around.

  1. How is this series in comparison to Ascension?

    1. Very different. Much lighter in tone, I think. Definitely sexy. I keep coming back to that it's not as heavy as Ascension overall. Less darkness, more sexin'.

    1. She periodically offers a few as freebies on her site. If you'd just like to try her out, I suggest hopping over and taking a look at what she has at the moment.
