Review: Beautiful Demons by Sarra Cannon

Beautiful Demons (Peachville High Demons #1) by Sarra Cannon
Synopsis (Goodreads):
Harper Madison isn't like other girls. She has extraordinary powers, but her inability to control them has gotten her kicked from so many foster homes she's lost count. Shadowford Home is her last chance, and she hopes Peachville High will be the fresh start she needs. But when evidence ties her to the gruesome murder of a Demons cheerleader, Harper discovers this small town has a big secret.
My Thoughts: I have these vaguely conflicted thoughts about this book. On one hand, I enjoyed the story and I'm intensely curious as to where Harper's journey will take her. On the other hand, I don't feel completely satisfied with all the information we were given. I want to know how Harper fits into this world and what being the Prima means. The answers we were given were a good start, but they weren't enough. I'm greedy. I want MOAR.

I've never been a huge fan of storylines that have the main character putting aside all her convictions to join the popular crowd but I think it worked in this case. Mostly because Harper's actions were out of her hands. In fact, the idea of something fiddling with her brain to make her forget all these important little details gives me full-on shivers. Just... *shudder* So creepy.

Probably my only complaint with this story was that I wanted more answers. Yes, I realize that answers will likely be forthcoming in the next book but... I wanted them now. I'm not terribly patient. It's my fatal flaw.

  1. My inner information whore stomped her foot and tried to poke everyone around her with a stick. It was very distracting.

  2. Say it isn't so? You aren't patient for answers? I would have never guessed :)
