Synopsis (Goodreads):
Without the evil vampire Bishop ruling over the town of Morganville, the resident vampires have made major concessions to the human population. With their newfound freedoms, Claire Danvers and her friends are almost starting to feel comfortable again…

Now Claire can actually concentrate on her studies, and her friend Eve joins the local theatre company. But when one of Eve’s castmates goes missing after starting work on a short documentary, Eve suspects the worst. Claire and Eve soon realize that this film project, whose subject is the vampires themselves, is a whole lot bigger—and way more dangerous—than anyone suspected.
My Thoughts: I say this time and time again with my reviews for this series, but I love seeing the progression of Claire's character as she's gone from the girl who's picked on and lonely to one that will stand up against her mad scientist boss when he's in uber-scary vampire mode. Smart girls rock! And Claire has a lot of brains packed in that head of hers.

What does this installment give us? Well, you'd think that with Bishop gone things would settle down. Alas, no. Claire and crew are thrown right into the thick of craziness once again. We also get to see Claire throw down some crazy-eyes when Eve latches onto a new friend and Claire's feeling ignored. It's the classic "Do I hate the new girl because she's usurping my place or is she genuinely up to no good?" question. I'm going to be honest, I think Claire could take the her in a fight. Well, provided she had enough time to visit Myrnin's lab of horrors and concoct something deadly.

Yep, that's our Claire. All brainy and stuff!

On top of the new and improved Cat Fight Claire, we also get a computer plotting diabolically, Myrnin at his streamlined and rather frightening best, power plays, and Rock Star Michael. Just because the big bad guy has been defeated doesn't mean it's time to let your defenses down, team! Things are continuing to happen.

Reread WIN!
