Synopsis (Goodreads):
The moment the demon King Thorne of the Third Realm set eyes on the mortal huntress Sable, he knew she was his fated one. The fiery, dangerous female awakened hungers he had never experienced before, a dark craving and passion that has consumed him in their time apart. As the lunar cycle wanes, she enters his world again and nothing will stand in the way of him claiming his forever with her—not the relentless assault from the Fifth Realm or the dark elf male determined to seduce her out of his grasp.

Intent on achieving the coveted position of commander at Archangel, Sable leads her small team into the dark underworld and the Third Realm, to a war where her allies are the very creatures she normally hunts—vampires, werewolves, and demons. Her eagerness to lead the deadly mission has everything to do with winning her promotion, and nothing to do with the kingdom’s brash, lethally seductive demon king—a king who stirred fierce desire and wildfire heat in her with just a look and an innocent touch when they first met, and has been in her wicked dreams ever since.

As the gathering storm between rivals unleashes irresistible passion that flares white-hot and the heat of the battle brings life-shattering realisations, can Sable place her duty before her heart? Or will she surrender to her deepest desires and be claimed by a demon king?
Thoughts on Claimed by a Demon King: Ohhhh! YAY! I spy some familiar faces in this book. I love running into old favorites in unexpected places. *high fives all the VET vamps and their various partners*

As fun as that is (and it is fun, TRUST ME ON THIS), let's talk about Thorne and Sable. Thorne was captivated by Sable from his first look. CAPTIVATED. Which is inconvenient timing since his realm is in the middle of a pretty epic conflict and he really should be focusing on that instead of how badly he wants to rip the arms off of any male who comes close to her. So it goes, right? You can't choose when you're going to meet your fated mate.

So, Thorne battles his territorial instincts about Sable while attempting to protect his people from a kinda douchey king who wants to swallow up his kingdom.

Bad timing? Yes. But it does make for some entertaining reading.

Meanwhile, Sable is all about her job. Except when she's fantasizing about Thorne. It turns out she has secrets of her own -- ONES SHE DIDN'T EVEN KNOW ABOUT -- and as the battle heats up, things get even more tangled. Her coveted position with Archangel is in question because fraternizing with a demon isn't allowed and yet... she's got her want on for Thorne.

I'm really enjoying this world and the expansion on what we learned in the VET series. There's plenty of blood, dangerous allies, and epically sexy dreams going on here. I'm hoping we get to see several of the secondary characters find their eternal mates because watching them fall hard is going to be fantastic!

  1. I was kind of hoping Sable was going to lean towards that other male from book 1. I'm glad to hear this one is as exciting as the first one!

    1. I kept going back and forth between the two men, but it's made preeeeettttty darn clear who floats her boat early on.

  2. I really need to read this series. I know people said good things about the first book and now everyone is also saying good things about the second book. If there are two good books back to back then the series must be worth reading. Plus it sounds like there are a few steamy scenes, can't pass those up.

    Thanks for the great review!

    1. It's set in the same universe as her Vampire Erotic Theatre series, so if you've read that, you'll get a kick out of seeing some familiar faces. And yes, there are steamy scenes!
