Synopsis (Goodreads):
Cooper Reynolds's life is going to the dogs... literally.

As if being a high school senior in a small Texas town wasn't hard enough, Cooper has bigger things to worry about than who he'll take to prom and whether or not the Poisonfoot Padres will win homecoming. He has less than a year before his eighteenth birthday, when a curse placed on his family will doom him to live in coyote form forever.

The last thing he needs to complicate his already messed-up life is a girl, but fate has other plans in mind for him when it brings Eloise "Lou" Whittaker to Poisonfoot. She's grouchy, sarcastic and has no love for her new Texas home, but she might be exactly the right person to help Cooper break the curse.

The clock is ticking, and Cooper will have to decide if he's willing to let Lou in on his dirty little secret before it's too late.
Thoughts on Autumn: *stares at everyone* Whoa. What just happened here? I mean, I loved it and I totally want more and... I TOTALLY WANT MORE. Lou and Cooper are so cute together. And Cooper's curse and... did I mention I want more?

*whimpers quietly over the ending*

So. Curses. Bad blood. Family ties. Shady "good guys" who I don't trust at all. There's a lot going on in this book. Lou had no idea what she'd end up in the middle of when she was forced to move to Poisonfoot.

Frankly, I felt for Cooper most of all. He's an outcast for no reason he can control. His family is struggling in the wake of what happened to his brother. He's lonely and resigned to what's coming. And then he meets Lou. She sees him instead of looking through him. She makes him feel hopeful when he's had nothing to feel hopeful about since the curse revealed itself.

I really don't know what to make of some of the events that happened at the end. As this is only the first book, I imagine there's a lot that will be explained later on. But for now, there's a big sense of betrayal in the air for Cooper and Lou and I hope the explanation for WHY these things happened come with a lot of groveling from the people who caused them.

As for me, I'm anxious to get my hands on book 2 now. Seriously, THAT ENDING. *gives everyone the crazy eyes*

  2. This is such a unique idea for a book! It sounds really interesting. Based on your opinions of the relationship and the ending, I may have to read it.
