Synopsis (Goodreads):
By day, she is Lady Georgiana, sister to a Duke, ruined before her first season in the worst kind of scandal. But the truth is far more shocking—in London’s darkest corners, she is Chase, the mysterious, unknown founder of the city’s most legendary gaming hell. For years, her double identity has gone undiscovered . . . until now.

Brilliant, driven, handsome-as-sin Duncan West is intrigued by the beautiful, ruined woman who is somehow connected to a world of darkness and sin. He knows she is more than she seems and he vows to uncover all of Georgiana’s secrets, laying bare her past, threatening her present, and risking all she holds dear . . . including her heart.
Thoughts on Never Judge a Lady by Her Cover: Holy bananas, I'm having a hard time dealing with the thought that this series is over. Thank goodness there's a new series featuring some of the secondary (or thirdary or more!) characters heading our way in the future or I might just be an inconsolable, blubbering mess.

Anyway. I ADORED watching Bourne, Cross, and Temple fall for their respective ladies. Those women are hell-raisers without meaning to be and they match their men perfectly. Given the secrets Georgiana's been hiding, I expected a lot from this book. And it delivered.

Oh, yes, it delivered.

I loved Georgiana's strength. I completely appreciate how devoted she was to her daughter. I like that she took something that would have crushed a lesser woman and found a way survive in a world that wasn't kind to fallen woman. Not only that, she became powerful. Yes, it was by hiding behind the persona of Chase, but in the end, Georgiana and Chase are the same person. She ruthlessly ferreted out the secrets the men of her club wanted hidden and she used them as needed.

And Duncan. Again, a perfect match. He has secrets of his own he keeps hidden and he's been very, very careful about protecting them. While part of me wanted to shriek at both him and Georgiana to JUST TELL THOSE SECRETS, I completely understand why they both couldn't take that first step. They had to have trust between them and that trust took time to build.

While I'm terribly sad to see this series end, I loved visiting with the previous characters and watching the final scoundrel fall. All in all, it ended perfectly and I'm eagerly looking forward to the next series.

    1. If I were ever to use "my feels" to describe a book, this would be the book. Oh, my feels! (I'm going to deny I wrote this, btw. Even when looking at it.)
