Synopsis (Goodreads):
Can his fiery touch melt her frozen heart?

He's a bad boy who has done the time for his crimes and is trying to go straight.
She was betrayed by her ex and hides behind anger to cope.

They are complete and utter opposites, who don't just attract, they explode.

Will their past be what brings them together, or ultimately tears them apart?

Swearing off men after her husband leaves her for another woman, Marissa turns to domination as a form of anger management. But Marissa doesn't dominate for pleasure. She does it to cope with her anger and pain.

Until a certain redneck moves in next door.

A run-in with the law, not to mention two little boys, have made Dirk see the light. He's cleaned up his act and is determined to stay away from trouble, but how can he ignore the ice princess next door who makes him want to light a fire in her perfectly creased pants? The more she pushes him away, the more he's determined to have her in his bed and arms. He just never expected her to win over his heart.
Thoughts on Falling for a Redneck: This is one of Eve Langlais's earlier books and, honestly, it's not my favorite. Her trademark sassy heroine is more of an angry, icy princess. I didn't hate Marissa, but I didn't love her the way I've loved so many of Eve Langlais's other ladies.

That said, I did enjoy the book. It wasn't my favorite, but it had some fun moments. Mostly revolving around Dirk trying to play nice with his seemingly uptight neighbor. And the boys worming their way into Marissa's heart. And the stolen sexy moments. Who can resist a man who knows what he wants and straight up goes after it? Not Marissa, that's for sure.

I didn't love the ending, it was far too convenient for my tastes, but I did like seeing Marissa without all her towering anger and issues. While this book will never be my favorite in the EL stable, I did have fun while reading it. So, there you go.

  1. I love Eve, but I don't know if this one is for me. I love the paranormal aspects. Thanks for your honest review.

    1. It's one of her earlier books and I can see how her writing has grown from this to what she's writing now. It's still entertaining, but, yeah, it lacks the paranormal aspects I ADORE in her other books.
