Synopsis (Goodreads):
When it comes to following her instincts, former Marine Dee-Ann Smith never holds back. And this deadly member of a shifter protection group will do anything to prove one of her own kind is having hybrids captured for dogfights. Trouble is, her too-cute rich-boy boss Ric Van Holtz insists on helping out. And his crazy-like-a-fox smarts and charming persistence are making it real hard for Dee to keep her heart safe...

Ric can't believe his luck. He's wanted this fiercely-independent she-wolf from day one, but he never expected teamwork as explosive as this. And now is his last chance to show Dee what she needs isn't some in-your-face Alpha male-but a wily, resourceful wolf who'll always have her back in a fight…and between the sheets.
Thoughts on Big Bad Beast: OMG! I still have such mad, mad love for this series. Every book just amps that love up. It's almost embarrassing at this point.

Whatever. I hold my fangirl flag up high.

So. Dee-Ann's parents, Eggie and Darla, were my first foray into this world. I adored them. I adored how growly Eggie got. I adored Darla's perkiness and her need to bake when things got tense with her sisters. It was NO surprise to me that I'd like Dee-Ann's brand of crazy just because she has so much Eggie in her.

What can I say? Scary, borderline psychopathic folks who can kill as easily as they can eat waffles do it for me. In a literary sense.

I do like how focused Dee-Ann is. When she finds something she believes in, she commits to it, full stop. She doesn't know when to back down from a fight and she's deadly. Which makes her very, very fun to read about.

LOVED watching Ric try to show Dee-Ann he was the wolf for her. Dee-Ann's not one to be led around, so he has to be sneaky about it. It's pretty glorious when he turns the tables on her tough ass and gets her to do exactly what he was angling for.

As always, the supporting characters rocked my socks off. They make me laugh. They punch with glee. They don't hold back.

MOAR.

  1. This one is next on my list. I listen to the audios. I have mad love for this series too. Have you tried the Magnus Pack series yet? They are very similar and even have some of the same characters. Great review.
