I must say, I wasn't disappointed. This book is chock full of intriguing world building and sex-ay characters. I liked that once Ella got over her initial fright over having a stone statue come to life, she saw the person under the monster. Kees had to come to terms with waking up in a world that knows next to nothing about him and his kind. Ella's presence -- and her abilities -- gave him something to focus on.
Nefarious plots coupled with a support system for the gargoyles that has been devastated leaves a lot of room for future books. Kees and Ella have a long way to go before the world is safe from those who are looking to destroy it. I'm excited to see the other gargoyles awakened to combat what's coming. *thumbs up*
