Synopsis (Goodreads):
He’s a player in more ways than one…Thoughts on The Mistake: Oh, Logan. You're life is kinda messed up and you refuse to share your issues with people which just makes it WORSE. Poor guy. I'm really really REALLY loving these Off-Campus men. They have problems and they're so wonderfully flawed... *draws sparkly hearts around them all*
College junior John Logan can get any girl he wants. For this hockey star, life is a parade of parties and hook-ups, but behind his killer grins and easygoing charm, he hides growing despair about the dead-end road he’ll be forced to walk after graduation. A sexy encounter with freshman Grace Ivers is just the distraction he needs, but when a thoughtless mistake pushes her away, Logan plans to spend his final year proving to her that he’s worth a second chance.
Now he’s going to need to up his game…
After a less than stellar freshman year, Grace is back at Briar University, older, wiser, and so over the arrogant hockey player she nearly handed her V-card to. She’s not a charity case, and she’s not the quiet butterfly she was when they first hooked up. If Logan expects her to roll over and beg like all his other puck bunnies, he can think again. He wants her back? He’ll have to work for it. This time around, she’ll be the one in the driver’s seat…and she plans on driving him wild.
But let's talk about Logan and Grace. He makes a few mistakes with her. She reacts as one would expect someone to react in her situation. While Logan messed up, I could see where he was coming from. I kinda think he did the honorable thing but I also don't think those two were in the right headspace when they first met. Either of them. Grace needed to find her strength in herself and Logan needed to realize some things couldn't be replaced.
Being apart was the thing they needed. So, YAY!
As for Logan's family issues, I honestly didn't see how things were going to turn out well for him. I got where he was coming from and why he needed to follow through with it. It killed me a little to see him throw away his dream, BUT I GOT IT.
This series, man. This series. *draws sparkly hearts around it*
