Synopsis (Goodreads):
New York Times bestselling author Gena Showalter is back with a sizzling Original Heartbreakers story featuring a troubled playboy and the woman he can't resist…

Beck O'ckley is ruthless in the boardroom…and the bedroom. He's never been with the same woman twice, and vows he never will. With a past as twisted as his, meaningless sex keeps the demons at bay. His motto: One and done. No harm, no foul.

Harlow Glass is the most hated girl in town. The beautiful artist is penniless, jobless and homeless. When she sneaks into Beck's home—her ancestral estate—for food, she's shocked by his early return…and her immediate, sizzling and intense attraction to him.

For the first time in Beck's life, he can't get a woman out of his mind. All too soon, friendship blooms into obsession and he'll have to break her heart…or surrender his own.
Thoughts on The Hotter You Burn: I was genuinely curious whether a former bully was going to be redeemable. I mean, Harlow was NOT a nice person before. She did have her reasons and she was willing to step up and take responsibility for her actions, but she wasn't considered the most hated girl in Strawberry Valley for nothing.

Frankly, she didn't have it easy. Nobody in town is willing to give her a job and she's living hand to mouth. She's hungry and beat down and I felt for her. And, yeah, she was aware of the mistakes she'd made in the past and was trying to make amends in any way she could.

Meanwhile, Beck is manwhoring his way through the female population. The guy is seriously dedicated to this pursuit. Until he meets Harlow in the flesh, that is. As it turns out, no matter how hard he fights it, he can't get the girl everyone hates out of his head.

I like Beck, Jase, and West. I LOVED seeing how smitten Jase is with Brook Lynn (THOSE TWO!) now that they're together. I can totally appreciate Beck's dedication to pie. I'm ready to watch West fall.

All in all, I am satisfied.
