Synopsis (Goodreads):
Dorian Vlakhos is no ordinary aristocrat. He is a vampire king, who will do anything to save his clan from complete annihilation, before an ancient curse can claim his immortal life.

Penniless and orphaned, Victoria Kingston has nothing to bring to a marriage, yet she must shackle an unsuspecting gentleman into marriage by the end of the month or forfeit her rights as guardian of her younger sister. With the help of her dearest friend, Victoria begins her hunt, and vows to stay far away from the dark, mysterious, Prince Vlakhos.

After meeting the beautifully innocent Miss Kingston, Dorian had to have her. He would do absolutely anything to make Victoria his. One sweet stolen kiss would bring them together while a force, more powerful than any vampire would bind them for all eternity. But treachery, war, and death rule Dorian’s dark world and Victoria would be fortunate to survive.
My Thoughts:  This one was fun.  You get to mingle the intricacies of a historical romance (those poor girls back then had a lot of rules to follow, you know) with the fun, sometimes brutal, nearly always sexy paranormal romance genre.  Vampires in high society!  I love it.

I really liked how single minded Victoria was.  She knew what she had to do to keep her sister safe and she set out to do it.  Yes, it was distasteful to her to be so mercenary but she couldn't walk away and leave her sister in her Aunt's grasp.  Dorian was absolutely not the type of gentleman Victoria needed.  He doesn't much care what society thinks of him (and why should he, being a vampire and all?) and his reputation isn't all that savory.  Despite all the reasons they shouldn't fall for one another, from the moment they met they both battled a pretty fiery attraction.

Amanda Greene has created a lovely, dark, elegant world populated with strong supernatural creatures and one very determined young lady.  The secondary characters were just as riveting as the main characters and the ending came with a nicely unforeseen jolt.  I'm curious to see where this series goes next.
