Synopsis (Goodreads):
Once a proud angel of Heaven, Nevar is now a servant of Hell, bound to a new master—the King of Demons. Consumed by darkness and driven to seek revenge, he set in motion a series of events that awakened the Great Destroyer, a force that will bring about the apocalypse. Now, he is the creature’s master and the fate of our world rests in the hands of an angel with only darkness in his heart.

Lost in the mortal realm without any recollection of how she came to be there, Lysia is only aware that she has survived a great battle. When she stumbles into a demon bar, she finds more than a chance to discover what happened to her—she finds a dark and deadly angel warrior who stirs fire in her veins and awakens soul-searing passion she cannot deny.

With the mounting threat of the Great Destroyer, the forces of Heaven and Hell against him, and a band of dangerous angels intent on capturing Lysia on his heels, can Nevar protect the beautiful woman who is light to his darkness and find the strength to save the world?
Thoughts on Her Avenging Angel: I have such a soft spot for heroes who are all messed up. Nevar certainly fits that bill. He's not comfortable in his own skin since he's become a servant of Hell and he pushes back at all the wrong times against the chains that bind him.

Which causes all sorts of problems, as I'm sure you've guessed.

Honestly, after what he did to Liora in book 6, I wasn't sure if I'd be able to like the guy. I did, though. Nevar has issues, but he still has a core of goodness at his heart. Besides which, his situation just sucks.

Lysia's situation is no less painful. Alone and lonely, she sees something in Nevar that calls to her and makes the loneliness a little more bearable. I genuinely liked how she stood up beside him when he needed it.

With appearances by characters from previous books, we get a whole lot of action, wide scale destruction, and some sweet, sweet lovin' during the downtime. While this book ties up the ongoing arc, there looks to be plenty more to discover in this world. Unless I'm misunderstanding, we're getting a spin-off series next. Same world, new apocalyptic angels.

I love when a good apocalypse is pending, don't you?

Here's to plenty more angel sexy times in the future!
