1. The Demon's Mark - Kindle
2. The Orc's Prize
3. The Vampire's Hunger
4. The Shadow's Embrace
5. The Angel's Sacrifice

Synopsis (Goodreads):
I was thrown into a monster prison by mistake.
Worse—into the same cell as the demon they kept petrified for centuries.

One touch woke him.
One breath and he called me “mine.”

I should fear Malek’s claws, wings, and hellfire…
but he shields me, protects me, and looks at me like I’m his whole world.

His mark is burning on my skin.
His chains are breaking.
And escaping this place might be the only thing more dangerous than falling for him.
Thoughts on The Demon's Mark: Lily thinks she was thrown into the monster prison by mistake, but it seemed more like calculated cruelty to me. I mean, she hadn't done anything to warrant being imprisoned AND she was put in the cell with one of the most dangerous monsters. Although, to be fair, I'm going to go out on a limb and say ALL the monsters in the prison are dangerous. So maybe Malek isn't the MOST dangerous.

But the guards didn't expect her to survive the night. Which says to me, they fully put her in there with cruel intent.

Anywho. Lily and Malek. She's a nurse put in a terrible position. He's a demon kept chained and bound. He thinks she's a fever dream when he first scents her since the fates would never bless him with a mate. Not after centuries of letting him rot in this prison. But she's real. And she's brave. And she's definitely his.

On Lily's end, she's terrified, but she has the fake it 'til you make it mask down. So she puts on a brave front, helps Malek when he's injured, and start to trust the big demon with everything inside her. Soon the two are breaking out, causing a little mayhem, and doing what they need to do to survive.

A dark prison, a demon who'd let go of hope, and the human lady who wasn't about to leave anybody behind. Least of all the monster who protected her and treated her like a treasure. *thumbs up*

Synopsis (Goodreads):
I thought my converted church apartment was ironic. A goth girl living in an old house of God. Edgy, right?

Then I discovered the gargoyle on my roof wasn't just decorative. He'd been watching me. For three years. Every 2 AM session, every whispered fantasy about being claimed by something dark and inhuman—he heard it all. Trapped in stone, unable to do anything but want.

When my blood accidentally shattered his binding, I didn't just free a statue. I released Ezekiel—a fallen guardian angel with black wings, red eyes, and a very detailed memory of every moan I've ever made.

Now he's bound to me. Warm where he was cold. Flesh where he was stone. And absolutely determined to make every dark fantasy I whispered into the night come true.

"You called to me every night, begging for your dark guardian. Well, here I am."

I accidentally freed a gargoyle with anger issues and a three-year head start on knowing exactly how to wreck me. I'm definitely keeping him.
Thoughts on Falling for My Demon: The goth girl and the gargoyle are up and Ezekiel is VERY wound up by the time he breaks his chains (or rocks, I guess). He's been watching Raven for the last three years and he's very smitten with the sexy lady.

Raven is...well, she's a little surprised that the statue on the roof is a very real individual who wants her. She helps him break out of his rocky prison and soon the two are tangling the sheets (and everywhere else). To be fair, Ezekiel has a lot of time to make up for and Raven is the only lady he wants to make it up with.

A little exhibitionism, a lot of sex-ay encounters, a dangerous gargoyle who knows exactly who he wants, and a lady who fully embraces the supernatural when it's revealed to her.

Synopsis (Goodreads):
I just wanted to pay off my student loans. Working nights at the university library barely covers rent, so when I found an ancient grimoire hidden in the stacks, a simple prosperity spell seemed harmless.

Too bad my Sumerian pronunciation is complete shit.

Instead of money, I summoned a sex demon who hasn't been on Earth in decades. He's bound to me until sunrise, unless I agree to make it permanent. And he can taste every fantasy I've ever had, see every desire I've tried to hide.

As dawn approaches, I have a choice: let him go forever, or become an incubus's mate and discover pleasures that will ruin me for human men.

"You summoned a sex demon, little one. Did you really think I dealt in money?"
Thoughts on Summoning My Demon: I enjoy these books and they ARE on the shorter side, but this one seemed even shorter than the others. As in, Emma bonded with her summoned demon within hours of meeting him. Which is not outside the realm of possibility for these books (and I honestly enjoy instalove), but I wanted more. Maybe? Like, everything happened so fast there wasn't as much emotional connection between the two as in the other books.

And, yeah, I get that I'm saying I enjoy instalove, but also want more. What can I say? I contain multitudes. In the end, Emma and Azmoz were fun, but they weren't quite at the level of fun as the others in this series.

Synopsis (Goodreads):
He feeds on lust... but he's starving for love.

For months, Destiny has been dreaming of a shadow lover. Faceless, nameless. The best sex of her life, and he's not even real. At least, that's what she thinks...

Rahel is an ancient incubus who stopped feeding because no one compares to the omega in his dreams. He doesn't know she exists. He's starving, but he'd rather die hungry than settle for less than her.

Then, on Valentine's night, he catches her scent: chocolate, brown sugar... the woman who's been ruining him in his sleep. She's real. She's HIS. And this grumpy alpha biker is about to break down her door and show his sunshine girl exactly what happens when fantasy becomes flesh.

One taste, and he'll never let her go.
Thoughts on Knotted by the Incubus: A growly, grumpy alpha incubus who has found the woman of his dreams IN his dreams and the omega lady who knows no one could be as good as the Shadow Daddy who visits her at night. He's willing to let himself fade away if he can't have her. She's not interested in anyone but the dream man who rocks her world.

Then he catches her scent on V-Day and suddenly a world of opportunities opens for them. You know, after he breaks down her door to get to her, straight up claims her on her prep table (that's going to require some DEEP disinfecting, btw), and gives her everything she needed before she knew she needed it.

Yup, Rahul and Destiny make things work. He'll go to any lengths to claim her (once he knows she's not just a figment of his imagination) and she's 100% along for that ride. Because Rahul is an incubus with game and he's VERY giving.

Sexy and fun (despite the rather unhygienic use of the prep table) with a whole lot of alpha/omega goodness. *thumbs up*

Synopsis (Goodreads):
I thought I knew heartbreak. Three years with my boyfriend, supporting his dreams, and he repays me by screwing my "best friend". In our bed. On my grandmother's quilt.

Furious, I performed a vengeance ritual from some sketchy grimoire. But when my blood hit the circle, I didn't just summon help—I bound Vernox, a vengeance demon, to me until justice is served.

Now he follows me everywhere in leather and danger, whispering dark promises about what Trevor and Megan deserve. But Vex doesn't just want revenge on them—he wants to destroy everyone who's ever hurt me.

And the way he touches me, claims me, makes me realize I don't want vengeance anymore. I want to be loved properly. Possessively. Forever.

"You bound me to you, baby. That means you're bound to me too."

I summoned a demon for revenge. Instead, I got a hot protector with anger issues and incredible stamina. I'm keeping him.
Thoughts on Bound to My Demon: Lyssa is in a bit of a rageful frame of mind when she performs her ritual and she didn't just end up with a demon who would help her get revenge, but with a demon who is bound to her, can read her like an open book, AND wants to give her all the revenge her heart desires.

Yup, Vernox is there for Lyssa in all the ways her ex wasn't. For all he's a demon, he's devoted, VERY giving, and willing to go to any lengths to make sure she's happy.

Quite frankly, Lyssa definitely traded up when she walked in on her ex and ex-best friend and made the choice to call down a little vengeance on them both.

| Website | Amazon |

Synopsis (Goodreads):
When she wished upon a star, she never thought the universe would manifest him.

Ember has always worked hard to achieve her goals. Move to the city? Check. Start her own boutique? Check. Buy a Victorian house? Check. Find love?

Absolute failure, and it’s not for lack of trying.

So she does something she hasn’t tried yet—she makes a wish upon a star. It’s just a silly, hopeful gesture. What can it hurt?

With a literal bump in the night, Nyte appears. He’s ethereally gorgeous, with dark skin that glitters like the starry sky, wings formed of otherworldly shadow, and eyes that glow with all the beauty, depth, and mystery of the universe. The moment Ember sees him, she can’t help but think her wish has come true.

What does it matter that he’s not human? He’s her monster-loving fantasy brought to life.

The problem? He had his heart stolen by his freaking ex.

Thanks to the spell that inadvertently summoned him, she has a month to prove that she’s the one for him. That she’s worthy of his love.

But is his wounded heart able to give it?
Thoughts on Oops! I Summoned a Night Demon: As far as Ember knows, she's not a witch. Yet she managed (with a little help from a mischievous, sweet shooting star) to summon a demon who is grumpy, a little heartsore (to say the least), and incredibly sexy.

I might be understating things when I say Nyte is not thrilled to have been summoned. His trust was shattered by his last relationship and he has a hard time wrapping his head around the idea that Ember is not there to take from him. She's genuinely kind and does what she can to make their month together as painless as possible.

On Ember's end, Nyte is everything she'd wished for in a romantic partner. But since he's only with her thanks to the summoning, she tries to ignore his sexiness and treat him like a person. A person with wings and horns and the endless night beneath his skin, but a person all the same.

A little (okay, not so little) nudge from Nyte's found family, a nasty succubus who doesn't know when to quit, a couple of steamy kisses, a night demon who has to shake himself out of his despair, and a lady who wants a forever kind of love and might just have found the perfect male to share it with.

Synopsis (Goodreads):
One moment I’m within my domain in the abyss, and the next…
She’s in front of me with a steam cleaner in her hand.
Her name is Grace… but I’m in no threat of falling, feeling hexed…
With her, I’ve ascended, on land.

Now she wants to get rid of me, saying I’m an accident.
Unfortunately for her, I have no intention of leaving without a taste.
I plan to stay until she’s flustered, wet, and bent out of shape.
Then maybe I’ll give her a reprieve, after I’ve had my fill of the chase.

-Sepher, Duke of Hell
Thoughts on Oops! I Summoned a Demonic Merman: Grace was only trying to clean up her parent's rental when she triggered the summoning circle left behind by the last renters and suddenly she has a roomful of merman. Demonic merman, so be specific. Sepher isn't thrilled to have been summoned, but he's also pretty darn intrigued by the human with the tasty tears and sexy body.

So he does what any self-respecting demon would do and makes a deal with Grace. And in typical demonic fashion, he makes sure the terms are in his favor. To be fair, why should be give up the tasty human treat now that he's found her?

On Grace's end, she's understandably confused on how she accidentally summoned a demonic merman. While she has magic, she shies away from using it after a bad incident years ago and she doesn't quite know what triggers her abilities. Turns out a sexy demon in the bathtub is the answer.

A grumpy demon who is about to find his match in the human realm, a lady who doesn't fit in until she does, and a watery hellscape that's perfect for raising little demonic merkids. Grace and Sepher are worlds apart, but they work!

Synopsis (Goodreads):
Crack an egg, hatch a demon!

When Coral goes to pick up the remaining belongings her obnoxious ex-roommate Angelique left in their old flat, she inadvertently starts the mother of all shitstorms. How was Coral to know that she’d brought back Vazul—an insanely hot sex demon, with a sharp tongue and wicked wits? She should cast him out, but the thought of parting ways with her irreverent demon is unbearable.

With Angelique hellbent on reclaiming what she deems hers, should Coral protect Vazul from the nefarious plans that wicked witch has in store for him, or should she seize the opportunity to run?
Thoughts on Oops! I Summoned a Liderc: Being a decent human being (and not wanting to pay a cleaning fee on the apartment they're moving out of), Coral picks up the last of her former roommates belongings from the apartment they just moved out of. Little does she know she's about to change her life in a BIG way.

Because one of the items she picked up is an egg that hatches a sex demon. A sexy sex demon. A sex demon who REALLY wants to treat her like the treasure he knows she is. Coral isn't exactly sold on the idea of owning another being, but her entire self rebels at the thought of handing him back to her old roommate. She might not know what to do with a sexy demon, but she doesn't want him exploited or otherwise abused.

On Vazul's end, he's never had a master (or mistress) who treats him like he matters. Coral is kind and caring and the more time he spends with her, the more he wants to make sure she has an easy life with plenty of success. While some of that is genetically engrained in him, he LIKES the woman he's bound to more than he thought was possible.

An ex-roommate who's a little power-hungry, more than a few sexy times, a hunky demon who doesn't like bothering with clothes (at least not easy to remove clothes), and a newbie witch who is about to find her groove and her special someone all in one fell swoop!

Synopsis (Goodreads):
I thought book club was the most boring thing in suburban hell. Wine, gossip, discussing romance novels—what could possibly go wrong?

Everything, apparently.

I wake up naked on an altar, surrounded by my book club "friends" chanting in Latin. Turns out they're a demon-worshipping coven, and they've decided I'm the perfect virgin sacrifice. But before they can complete their ritual, Be'Leth appears—not to accept their offering, but to save my ass.

The rescue comes with conditions. I'm bound to him now, under his protection but also his claim. He's patient enough to let me accept his claiming and become his forever, or risk other demons finishing what the soccer moms started.

"You were meant to be sacrificed. Instead, you're going to be treasured."

I got betrayed by suburban moms and saved by a demon prince. Guess which one treats me better?
Thoughts on Sacrificed to My Demon: Waking up naked on an altar with a bunch of wanna-be witches trying to sacrifice you for power and such does NOT seem like a good time. But I guess when the summoned demon is not only hot, but both morally good (all things considered) and fiercely protective of you, things work out.

I mean, Annie ended up with the better end of the deal, no doubt. Her relationship with Be'Leth might have started off a little rough (mostly because being an intended sacrifice sounds rough), but her demon took care of business with the almost-witches and made sure she was safe which was honestly ideal. Sure, she had a choice to make as far as what she wanted out of his protection, but he let her make said choice and then he worshipped her the way she deserved to be worshipped.

These are bite-sized romances where things happen quickly, the demons are hunky and protective, and the ladies always come out on top. *thumbs up*

Synopsis (Goodreads):
My life is falling apart. My bakery's failing, my divorce is bankrupting me, and I'm desperate enough to try the crossroads ritual my grandmother whispered about.

I never expected someone like Azriah to answer.

The crossroads demon offers everything I need: success, money, revenge on my cheating ex. All for the low price of my soul. But when our first kiss ignites something primal between us, I realize this deal comes with benefits I never imagined.

Two c*cks, supernatural stamina, and centuries of experience? Sign me up.

"Sign the contract, Monika. Let me give you everything you deserve."

I sold my soul for revenge. Instead, I got the best sex of my life and a demon boyfriend. Hell yeah, I'd make this deal again.
Thoughts on Deal with My Demon: Crossroads demons, AMIRITE? They bring the heat. As an incubus, Azriah not only brings the heat, he does it with style!

But first! Monika is in a not so great place what with her divorce, her soon-to-be ex's unethical lawyer, and the pending loss of her bakery. She's a little desperate when she calls for a demon at the crossroads and Azriah is definitely not what she was expecting. He's hunky, powerful, and REALLY wants her to sign his contract so he can get his hands on her.

So she does what any desperate woman would do and signs the contract. Honestly, she got a GOOD deal. Not only does her ex get what he deserves, but her business is now thriving and Azriah is all about making sure she's very well pleasured. Win/Win/Win.

Fast, sexy, and fun. *thumbs up*

Synopsis (Goodreads):
I inherited my grandmother's house and her enemies. Demon hunters want me dead, convinced I've gone dark. Problem is, I can't control the magic I inherited, and "I'm just untrained, not evil" isn't much of a defense when they're holding blessed blades.

Desperate, I used Grandma's rosary to summon a guardian angel for protection. What I got was Kayne—fallen, dangerous, and pissed about being bound to protect me despite his banishment from Heaven.

He fell for lusting after mortals. One touch and I understand why. His touch is divine ecstasy, and when his black wings wrap around me, I feel both corrupted and saved.

The hunters want me dead. Heaven cast him out. But together? We're unstoppable.

"You summoned a fallen angel, little witch. Let me show you why I fell."

I asked for divine protection. I got a fallen angel with black wings and a glowing... y'know. Sometimes prayers are answered better than expected.
Thoughts on Saved by My Demon: When you're being hunted for something outside your control, you're a lot desperate, and you attempt to summon a guardian angel and get a fallen angel instead, I guess you just have to throw caution to the wind, say Screw it and accept that you got the better end of the deal. Especially if the summoned sexiness ends up being your fated mate.

So. Rebecca is dealing with a slight case of being hunted. She's at her wit's end, doesn't expect to live much longer with the way the hunters are escalating, and ends up with a fallen angel as a guardian. A fallen angel who REALLY likes human ladies. Seeing as he's all the physical things Rebecca could want in a male, she's game to get frisky with him.

So they frisk. And then they frisk some more. There is so much frisking and glowing and knotting that they're actually caught in the act when the hunters arrive. Which is maybe great timing on the hunters' part. I don't know. That said, Rebecca and Kayne aren't thrilled with being interrupted.

Enjoyable overall and pretty much what I was looking for when I picked it up.

Synopsis (Goodreads):
Roses are red, violets are blue. Hide your heart, little bird. Cupid’s Arrow is coming for you.

Callum is more than the CEO of Cupid Inc., the company that manufactures “love” potions and sells them to mateless supernaturals who want to take “fate” into their own hands. He’s an angel. Literally.

But even the devil came from Heaven.

So it’s just my luck that he also happens to be my boss… Until he discovers that I’m a mole for the organization protesting his company. Suddenly, I find myself as the test bunny for his most potent product yet: Cupid’s Arrow. And my mate-to-be? Callum himself.

Call it vengeance. Call it an insane marketing stunt. Call it fate. Whatever it is…

There’s no escaping Cupid Inc.’s dark angel and his terrifying brand of love.
Thoughts on Bleed for Cupid: Robin is in a tricky situation. She's feeding information about Cupid's Arrow to human protestors and she's both a little afraid and a lot in love with her boss. She doesn't think Callum is the heartless individual the protestors are painting him as, but the idea of this formula being created that basically roofies humans to fall for a supernatural doesn't sit well with her.

Callum is aloof, intimidating, and keeps his distance as best he can. Then he finds out Robin's the mole and now he has to deal with this egregious betrayal while also not wanting to completely destroy her. Because, yeah, he kind of has a thing for his assistant. A kind of big thing. So he doses her with the very drug she's trying to stop his company from making and, umm, things don't go quite as he expected.

Mostly because artificially trying to create something that is already present is maybe a little pointless. Yup, Robin doesn't need to be roofied because she's already into Callum. Really into him. Now they just have to set some boundaries, figure out what they're going to do with this info, and make things happen.

An angel with a little darkness, a lady who matches him, and a very eventful encounter that gives everybody all the things they didn't know they were looking for. *thumbs up*

Umbra Valley
0.5. Frankie's Funhouse - Paperback | Kindle
1. Meet at Midnight

Beatrix Hallow
| Amazon |

Synopsis (Goodreads):
Desperation for cash has led me down a rainbow painted hallway to Frankie’s Funhouse—a children’s gambling casino. Or as my boss likes to call it, a pizza arcade.

The coworkers are strange, the patrons are disturbing, and the animatronics are possessed. Which I was willing to put up with until my boss died.

Well, he was murdered, actually.

Now I have to serve pizza and birthday cake while thinking about burning down the mall to hide a body for an animatronic that keeps hitting on me.

Drug dealings in the backrooms, puddles of blood seeping out from the storage closet, and parents threatening to talk to my (dead) boss if I don’t get their screaming kids' pizza was all manageable...

Until I realized I didn’t mind Frankie’s possessed tongue in my mouth.
Thoughts on Frankie's Funhouse: Going to be honest, a circa-1980's mall is already setting the stage for some serious carnage, so when a possessed animatronic gets thrown into the mix I just figure that ALL BETS ARE OFF. And I was right.

Ramona has taken a job that would probably steal the soul of anyone given enough time. Roller skates, rainbow booty shorts, and barely cooked pizza served to sugar-hyped kids (while their parents are busy getting busy in the back room). As if that's not enough, the animatronics are giving her the creeps. Well, one animatronic. And, umm, it might not actually be the creeps. I mean it is, but it maybe also isn't. Like, maybe she likes being chased by a possessed animatronic coyote who sing-songs her name while hunting her through the arcade.

But wait! That comes later. First, she has to get through her first shift (on her own, for the most part), deal with her now-deceased boss's body (yeah, things happen in those employee only rooms), and try to save the screaming kids from the bloodbath she's pretty sure is coming. You know, because of the possessed animatronic and the chainsaw it's wielding and all that.

A whole lot of creepy vibes (not all from the animatronics, thankyouverymuch), a little chase or two, way more blood than one would expect as a pizza arcade, an animatronic that wants to get its hands on Ramona, and a lady who just wanted an okay job, but ended up wearing rainbow booty shorts and finding out she might not mind the big metal creature stalking her through her work. Bloody, wacky, and pretty darn fun!

Synopsis (Goodreads):
When Gemma’s supposed to terrify her appointed victim, she ends up captivated instead. Caleb, a romantic who believes in all things supernatural, finds her adorably pink-skinned, horned form more alluring than alarming. But as their steamy night unfolds and unexpected feelings bloom, Gemma must choose between her demonic duties and the human who makes her feel anything but monstrous.
Thoughts on Beautiful Nightmare: Oh man. A paralysis demon who's REALLY bad at her job - which really was more about being forced into a box she didn't belong in than being bad, I guess. Gemma just wasn't the sort who wanted to terrify. She didn't like feeding off fear or causing it. However, being a demon, she kept trying even though it wasn't the thing that called to her.

What does call to her? Caleb and his kindness. His caring. His attraction to her. That last part kind of boggled her, to be honest. Spending time with him and being appreciated for all the parts she had to usually keep hidden was something she'd never experienced before. And she didn't hate it.

On Caleb's end, he didn't mean to get super turned on by the demon trying to scare him, but she was captivating and naked and THINGS HAPPENED. Spending time with her even when she was trying to scare him? WORTH EVERY MINUTE.

A sex-ay encounter, a little fear, a human who isn't nearly as afraid as he is expected to be, and a demon who finds attraction and caring a whole lot sweeter to snack on. I must say I liked this one. A lot!

Synopsis (Goodreads):
A gift from the gods...

Veritas and Ian have finally defeated their worst enemy, but the power it took to pierce through to the netherworld has unexpected consequences. Soon, Veritas is forced to rely on the last person she trusts---a golden deity named Phanes, who seeks far more than a temporary alliance with the beautiful vampire.

Can unleash hell...

But a supernatural escape soon pits Veritas and Ian against beings seeking to rule over mortals once again. Now, they must rally friends and foes alike--if the vampire council doesn't execute Veritas first. Plus, a wedge between Veritas and Ian threatens to destroy their love. Can they stand together against the unearthly powers about to be unleashed? Or does their love--and humanity--not stand a chance?
Thoughts on Wicked All Night: Man, Veritas and Ian just can't catch a break, can they? They defeated Dagon, but the demon left a parting gift and Ian is NOT doing well as a result. Which leads Veritas to agree to help Phanes because I'm pretty sure Veritas would have cheerfully agreed to burn down the world if it meant Ian would survive.

Except Phanes isn't the paragon of virtue he presents himself as. In fact, he kind of has that tricksy vibe going and he sort of left a few things out of his request for Veritas's help. Sure, Veritas was desperate enough to agree in the first place so she didn't have a whole lot of time to double check that what he offered was above board and all that. Let's just say that Phanes is kind of a jerk and leave it at that.

BUT...now that Ian is healed up and has regained his strength, he's not about to let his honey face anyone or thing on her own. So he does what he has to do (which is just as extreme as one would expect from Ian) and soon Veritas and Ian and trolling the underworld, fighting old gods, brokering deals between vampires and ghouls, and doing everything they can to fix the wrongs they had an unwitting hand in.

Yeah, these two have A LOT going on. Volcanoes and powerful friends banding together to stop imminent destruction and fundamental changes to the way the vampire council is run. Veritas and Ian are both making waves and THINGS ARE HAPPENING! (and MAN it was nice seeing all those familiar faces one last time!)

Synopsis (Goodreads):
Some promises are meant to be broken…

Veritas spent most of her life as a vampire Law Guardian. Now, she’s about to break every rule by secretly hunting down the dark souls that were freed in order to save Ian. But the risks are high. For if she gets caught, she could lose her job. And catching the sinister creatures might cost Veritas her own life.

Some vows are forever…

Ian’s memories might be fragmented, but this master vampire isn’t about to be left behind by the woman who entranced him, bound herself to him, and then disappeared. So what if demons, other Law Guardians, and dangerous, otherworldly forces stand against them? Come hell or high water, Ian intends to remind Veritas of the burning passion between them, because she is the only person seared on his mind—and his soul…
Thoughts on Wicked Bite: To protect Ian after his memories were fractured, Veritas sent him back to his happily hedonistic life. Since he couldn't remember the time they spent together, he'd go right back to his old self and wouldn't miss her. At least that was what Veritas's bruised heart told her.

As it turns out, Ian's feelings were deep enough that they couldn't be erased completely and it wasn't long before he was hunting down his errant wife while stirring up trouble as only Ian can. In other words, Ian wasn't going to be kept out of the fight against Dagon even if he didn't remember exactly what was going on.

Soon Ian and Veritas are verbally sparring with one another as they try to find the freed souls. Ian's convinced Veritas feels more than she'll admit (which is true). Veritas is trying her hardest not to get too tangled back up in Ian because she's convinced he doesn't feel for her what she does for him (which is false). Quite frankly, ALL Ian's vampire pals can see he's more than a little smitten and they're all floored by this. It's just that Veritas is way too close to the situation to see it herself.

Unexpected family connections, new abilities, betrayal, unleashed power, unexpected complications, a vampire with a powerful new skill set, and a Law Guardian who is having a REALLY hard time flying under the radar. To be fair, being married to Ian already makes it difficult to keep things on the down low. Ian with a purpose? Let's just say he's very determined vampire who isn't about to let his new wife skip out on their marriage. Even if it's for his own good.

Synopsis (Goodreads):
The Rule Breaker...

Master vampire Ian is unrepentant, shameless…and every shade of wicked. He’s made one too many enemies in his two centuries of existence, including Dagon, a demon who now lays claim to his soul. Ian’s only chance to escape Dagon is to join forces with a Law Guardian, but he's never been able to abide by the rules for long.

The Law Maker...

Veritas’ normal role is police, judge, and jury to reprobates like Ian. But she has her own ax to grind with Dagon, so if she can use Ian as bait...well, all’s fair in law and war. As they scour supernatural hotspots to perfect their trap, Veritas soon realizes Ian’s carefully cultivated, devil-may-care roguish image hides something much more powerful. And Ian discovers Veritas has shocking secrets of her own. As they’re drawn to each other with a passion as intense as their peril, either love or justice will prevail. But each will have devastating consequences.
Thoughts on Shades of Wicked: Putting my thoughts together for this one is taking me a MOMENT. I mean, Ian has always been the hedonistic vampire who pokes and pokes and pokes at someone until they just completely lose it. He's the type of extreme pleasure seeker who will try anything once and he absolutely delights in pointing that out to people.

He's also so much more than that. I mean, the guy sold his soul in an effort to bring Mencheres back when he thought Vlad had killed him. He's purposefully over the top so people don't look too deeply at him and they all seem to underestimate him because they see exactly what he wants them to see. Which is kind of exactly what happens to Veritas when she busts in on him to use him in her hunt for Dagon.

To be fair, Veritas also has a few layers SHE doesn't let anybody see. So really, she and Ian are pretty similar in the sense. Veritas, however, went the upstanding, Law Guardian route (instead of the pleasure-loving reprobate). Which means she's hiding A LOT from her fellow Law Guardians because she's pretty much breaking vampire law just by existing.

She also has a serious hate on for the demon Ian needs to break his bargain with, so these two are WELL MATCHED in that respect.

A whole lot of fighting, secrets, family bonds, familiar faces, smoldering looks, innuendo, magic, a vampire who is far more than he pretends to be, and a Law Guardian who has locked herself away so tightly she doesn't know what she's capable of. GOOD STUFF all around!

Synopsis (Goodreads):
She trusts him with her life.

Terminally ill, and with no possible medical or magical cure in sight, Amara turns in desperation to the Weaver. To her dismay, the solution she offers sends Amara on a mission even deadlier than the illness slowly killing her. She enlists Remus, the only Lycan guide who consents to take her on this perilous journey. Although afflicted by his own curse, Remus is strong, fearless, and the fiercest protector Amara could have hoped for. The gentle soul behind his intimidating exterior touches her deeply and gives her an even greater reason to want to live.

He would gladly die to save her.

Cursed from birth and treated as a pariah by his pack, Remus is resigned to live as a lone wolf. When Amara comes seeking aid, his joy at realizing that she’s his Twin Flame is quickly crushed. Amara is dying and the only cure is pure insanity. Against all logic, Remus pledges to save the sweet and courageous female who looks at him like a worthy male, not a feral beast to be banished.

After a lifetime of misery, Remus will fight the Gods themselves to protect the one good thing Fate has ever given him… or die trying.
Thoughts on Destined to the Lycan: The Weaver is at it again and this time she's helping someone who isn't one of her children. Which isn't to say there aren't connections to her running throughout, but neither Remus nor Amara are technically hers. BUT she is setting things in motion to help more of her children, so I can see why she agreed to send Amara on the journey she's on.

So. Amara and Remus. Amara is dying by inches, day by day and her only hope at this point is the Weaver. The Weaver (as is her MO) has an answer, but the cure is nearly as deadly as the disease and there's a very real possibility Amara won't survive what she has to do. But the Weaver is clever and soon Remus has agreed to lead Amara on her dangerous journey. Admittedly, Remus mostly stepped up because Amara is his other half and any chance (even one that doesn't look workable from the outside) is better than watching her waste away.

The thing about this journey is that it's just one thread in the bigger picture. Not just for Amara and Remus, but also for Lyall (who they meet along the way) and possibly the Demon Wolf. The Weaver is good at lining things up and putting them in motion when the time is right, so I see big things coming down the line for her sons and those who match them. (Does the Weaver have any daughters? I AM CURIOUS!)

A mysterious illness, a dangerous journey, a familiar face or two, a Lycan who's more than he seems, and a lady who is willing to go the distance when it's required. *thumbs up*

Synopsis (Goodreads):
Could she give him her soul?

Determined to free her brother from the clutches of an evil necromancer, Kali enters into an improbable agreement with Pharos, an Angel of Death. Behind his cold and intimidating appearance, she discovers a kind, selfless, and protective male who fascinates her. She would blindly follow Pharos into the deepest pits of Hell. But the cost for his aid is Kali’s soul, and that seems too steep a price.

For half a millennium, Pharos wasted away, enslaved by the necromancer who appropriated his powers to pursue reckless ambitions. Today, the stunning Blood Mage whose pure soul enthralled him turns out to be the key to his redemption. Kali is strong, dauntless, and loyal to her very core. The bride he awaited his entire life…

As the confrontation with their nemesis escalates, the possessiveness Kali awakens in Pharos further fuels his need to protect her. How can he do so when she denies him the one thing that will save her life?
Thoughts on Destined to the Reaper: The morally deficient necromancer who tried to strong-arm Ronika's property from her in book 1, has bound an Angel of Death and is using his powers to do terrible things. Which, for the record, Pharos VERY MUCH doesn't like. But Pharos is bound and doesn't see a way out of his predicament, so he has no choice but to endure it. Until, you know, a beautiful Blood Mage crosses his path.

Kali is motivated to stop Cornelius since he's enslaved her brother. Freeing Pharos and stripping the necromancer of a whole bunch of his power helps both her and Pharos and Kali is willing to do anything toward that end. Except give her soul. Fortunately, there's a workaround of sorts that isn't quite as foolproof as the soul-giving but will get the job done. Probably.

For the record, I don't think crossing the Weaver in any way, shape, or form is advisable. She has a long reach and powerful allies and she doesn't hold her allies back when they come to extract some vengeance.

Anywho. Kali and Pharos have to work together, they get close, Kali has to make a choice that hinges on trust. We get to meet one of Pharos's brothers (who is pretty darn good at speeches that make a girl think) and the necromancer and his flunkies get what's coming to them. I mean, they REALLY get what's coming to them.

I'm digging this world and the Weaver and all the threads she can pull to put things in motion. *thumbs up*

Synopsis (Goodreads):
Would he save her or be her damnation?

Hounded by a necromancer hellbent on appropriating her ancestral lands, Ronika must recover an ancient relic from a cursed mansion to keep her enemy at bay. To do so, she requires an escort. Convincing an enraged wraith to help seems like an impossible task. But she discovers that the being behind the billowing shadows is an honorable protector who moves her in an unexpected fashion.

After centuries of terrorizing the land while lost to madness, Asheron cannot believe this fragile human, with her weak green magic, has managed to bring back his sanity. Ronika’s incredible strength, fearless determination, and the gentle way she touches him soothes the monster he has become and awakens a powerful longing and possessiveness in him. But she does not realize the deadliness of the deal she has struck to defend her land.

He will stop at nothing to protect the woman who has claimed his heart. But will Asheron’s efforts bring about Ronika’s salvation or doom them both?
Thoughts on Destined to the Wraith: Ronika's in a rough spot. She can either roll over and let a truly terrible necromancer take her home and probably enslave her deceased family with his power or she can attempt to gain the help of a wraith who can drain her life with a touch. Both seem equally impossible, but Ronika would rather go down fighting than hand over her home to the necromancer.

So she sets out to bargain with a wraith.

As it turns out, Asheron as the wraith is...not quite in his right mind. Fortunately, Ronika has an ace or two up her sleeve and manages to intrigue him enough to bring out his more mortal side and convince him to help her. Also fortunately, Asheron's mortal form (and his wraith form, come to think) doesn't disgust Ronika and she's able to fulfill her end of the bargain. (Something she doesn't mind IN THE LEAST doing.)

On Asheron's end, helping Ronika is a no-brainer. She gives him the sort of peace he hasn't experienced since he became a wraith and he's determined to work on making their partnership something more permanent. They just have a mansion crawling with foul things to survive and a necromancer to thwart before they can do that happily ever after thing.

A truly awful necromancer, a whole lot of danger, the mysterious Weaver who very much wants Ronika to succeed, a wraith with a powerful protective streak, and a green witch who will go to any lengths to protect her home. *thumbs up*
