Yeah, Mick and Kimberly have an interesting first meeting. Not to mention, they're now shacked up together in an attempt to hide out and let their viral fame die down. They're both into one another, but things are moving very quickly and Kimberly has it in the back of her head that maybe its too fast. Which it isn't. It's just that when werewolves know, they know.

Now they're navigating a budding relationship, some very wolf-y instincts, and some potentially sticky pack politics. Or, well, not PACK politics. More like, the fallout from Mick being filmed going all wolf on the robbers. Which isn't ideal.

Anywho. Close quarters, long nights, a wolf who knows when he found his special someone, and a lady who has to decide if she's ready to stay in this world pretty quickly.

Thoughts on How to Housebreak Your Werewolf: When the foster dog she's bathing suddenly turns into a hunk of a guy, Charlotte does what any normal person who doesn't know about werewolves would do. She screams and tells him to wear a towel so she doesn't get distracted by his goods.

To be fair, Alaric is distracting even with a towel. So that wasn't as effective as it maybe could have been.

Anywho. Alaric's been stuck in wolf form for a while and now he claims he owes Charlotte for unsticking him. He's not quite clear how this karmic debt will be repaid, but he's settling in for the long haul. Charlotte just kind of goes with it. Because hot guy who likes to do things around the house is a win, I guess.

When his heat hits, she helps him through it. When they have to share a room while her apartment is being repaired, things get even more serious. Soon their lives are meshing together in all ways and they're both okay with that.

An ex who isn't terrible, but it also maybe a little pushy, a territorial wolf with a decided domestic side, and a lady who got introduced to a whole new world on the fly and she's pretty much okay with it.

Thoughts on Forget Me Naut: Oh MAN. Cal, Ro, and Neviah are a painful tangle of emotions in this one and it was tough to watch them struggle. Not so tough that I didn't read it, obviously, but OH MY HEART!

So. After ten years together, this threesome decided to attempt bringing Neviah fully into Cal and Ro's world. We're talking physical transformation here. Cal and Ro both have lifespans that far exceed a human lifespan and the three of them wanted to spend every moment they could with one another. Seeing as Neviah was human, transforming her into what they are makes sense. They did their research (as much as they could given the mysterious nature of how they changed and what they are) and figured out the safest way to do it. They took the plunge and...Neviah survived, but with no memory of them.

Which, frankly, GUTTED Cal and Ro. Cal maybe more than Ro. Both of them were wrecked, don't get me wrong, but Cal was a mess.

Despite her lack of memories, the bond came through in one piece. Meaning Neviah could feel Cal's pain. She could feel both their hurt over what happened. It messed with her head a little. She didn't want to hurt either of the men, but she didn't know them. And every time they interacted she could feel the tentative hope they carried wither when she kept them at arm's length.

Ultimately, Cal had to face the abyss that lives inside him. Ro had to believe in them as a unit enough to see them all through this. It took a leap of faith on Neviah's part before things started to come back together. Seriously, OH MY HEART.

In a good way.

Ro is like Cal (tentacled and awkward), something that triggers Cal's mate bond pretty much from the moment he lays eyes on him. Niviah is super okay with the two of them together. And with her. Ro is...a little hesitant at first. To be fair, after the initial mate bond, Cal is VERY hesitant. Mostly because he can't believe he could be lucky enough to have two individuals who complete him so perfectly.

So the three of them work on being a triad. Niviah soothes Cal's fears. Ro teaches Cal a few tentacle tricks. Cal has to come to terms with loving two people more than he expected. The three WORK. They fit in all the right ways. They face some challenges, but come to terms with loving one another when an accident nearly separates them.

And OH THAT ENDING. Book three is waiting for me. I can hear it calling.

Thoughts on Hook, Line, and Tentacle: Oh MAN this one was fun. Neviah is equal parts sass and loneliness and Cal is the only one around she has to focus that sass on. To be fair, I think she'd still have fallen for Cal even if there were others around, but he's gets the brunt (in a good way) of her quick mouth and long looks thanks to their proximity.

Cal is...let's say he's gloriously grumpy. He isn't much on socializing and the secret he's carrying makes him wary of, well, everyone. But ESPECIALLY the tempting woman renting his attic room. Neviah gets in his space, doesn't seem to mind his growls, and just generally disrupts him. Then his grumpiness pushes a little too far and he has to admit (if only to himself) that maaaayyybe he likes having Neviah around TOO much.

Which is its own set of problems. He's afraid he might hurt her. He's used to being alone. He retreats when things get overwhelming. Fortunately for him, Neviah doesn't let any of that stop her. She keeps sassing. She keeps getting in his business. And when she finds out his secret? It's just another layer of delight for her.

But old habits are hard to break and it takes a dangerous situation for Cal to realize that losing Neviah isn't an option. No lie, I liked these two A LOT.

So, yeah. She signs up and expects some painfully awkward first dates, but at least she'll get a meal out of it.

Then her A date shows up and sparks fly. Not literally, but also almost literally since a single touch sends her into a full blown heat. Which Alec helps her through with her full consent. Lucy has a tiny little freakout about everything the next day and goes radio silent. Which is maybe a little understandable since she went from 0 to 100 in no time flat and things got a little overwhelming in her head.

On Alec's end, he's a lot smitten with the sexy woman he thought he'd spend nothing more than an overpriced meal with. Although she ran scared, he's convinced there's something there. So he does what any alpha would do when the lady he spent a scorching night with rabbited and finds out where her B date is going to be. And he shows up. As it turns out, their chemistry wasn't a one-time thing and date B ends up with Lucy going home with suitor A. Let's just say things progressed from there with the next set of dates.

A bad date or two, a not-so-bad date (but not with the guy her head is fixated on), some creative date-night fun, an alpha who knows his special someone from their first meeting, and a lady who needed to wrap her head around the idea that sometimes the first one is the right one. *thumbs up*

But that's exactly what happened.

Now she's trying to help Damon find his inner peace and keep him from wolfing out in public places. And since getting close and personal helps keep him even, Indigo is getting UP CLOSE AND PERSONAL with the sexy werewolf. Honestly, it's not a hardship in the slightest.

On Damon's end, he's trying to deal with suddenly being a wolf on his own and it's...not going so well. Especially around the full moon. But something about Indigo works for him and having her close keeps his wolf happy. His human side happens to like her also. Which is fortunate because these two just can't keep their hands off one another.

Tight quarters, sexy yoga, a wolf just trying to find his happy place, and a lady who is VERY good at keeping her wolf engaged. *thumbs up*

BOY, is he wrong. When Sara moves in next door (thanks to Flora's impeccable ability to pick out the perfect person to be in the perfect place at the perfect time), Ben is sunk. Maya had a bad experience with her first mate hunt and isn't looking to get herself in that situation again. Ethan, on the other hand, wants a mate something fierce. Given that all Maya's friends have mated with all Ethan's pack brothers, they both think the odds are with them possibly being their other half. But, again, Maya is VERY against putting herself in that position again, so they're kind of at a stalemate.

That said, Ethan's persistent. If Maya doesn't want a mate, he'll settle for being her friend. They just have to avoid direct eye contact so the mate bond doesn't trigger. Cue the mirrored sunglasses any time they're around one another. However, both Maya and Ethan are almost desperate for the connection they can only get from one another. So they embark on a friends with benefits (and no eye contact) situation to try and work around these things they're feeling.

No lie, they're both feeling lots of things. So many things. Maya's still fighting the idea of mating, but Ethan...well, Ethan's all in. But he won't force Maya to make a choice that she might end up regretting. Ultimately, she has to decide if she can stomach the idea of living without him. And then she has to act one way or another so they aren't stuck in this endless almost-mate limbo.

I'm sad to see these wolves go, but must say I thoroughly enjoyed watching all of them fall.

The plan involves meeting all the unmated wolvers in the Feral Pack and crossing her fingers one of them is her mate. And then? Running from them to trigger their instinctive need to chase and bite.

As plans go, it's not terrible. I mean, there was a little left up to chance with the whole "hoping one of them was her mate" thing, but the rest? Worked wonderfully. The only thing Zoe really didn't take into account was that she almost died during her first shift. Which she didn't know was a possibility, really. Fortunately, she had Connor there to coach her through the change. Now she just have to convince her wolf to bite him and finish planning their wedding.

On Connor's end, he's not in the least upset that his wolf chose Zoe. He's willing to do whatever needs to be done to convince her wolf to choose him now. Which means making a list of all the things that Zoe wants and then giving all those things to her. And if he has to marry her to keep her safe? So be it!

I'm really enjoying these human women and the wolves who are getting a second chance at being mated. Next up: wary Maya and the last wolf standing. *thumbs up*

Thoughts on The Friendly Girl's Guide to Mating with a Werewolf: Emmy, who might be a little bit of a hot mess, takes a wrong turn on her way to Jade's house and suddenly she has a werewolf of her own as a mate. Unfortunately, Finn's human side is a little conflicted about having a mate. Especially one as sunshiney as Emmy.

But Finn's wolf made the call and then Emmy's wolf accepted in what was possibly the shortest mate hunt in the history of mate hunts. So now they're trying to do the platonic mates with benefits thing which doesn't work nearly as well as Finn probably hoped it would. Mostly because he caught feelings, his human side is just a little tangled up about that.

A whole lot of color, some nearly-naked baking, a wolf who needs to work through what he wants, and a lady who is trying to be patient with the wolf who claimed her. *thumbs up*

Thoughts on The Independent Girl's Guide to Mating with a Werewolf: Jade, who doesn't KNOW about werewolves, but is also a little suspicious that maybe there really are werewolves in Moon Ridge, is up and her honey-bunny is Wyatt. Much like the other rejected, the surly mechanic doesn't think he'll ever find a mate again. So he's pretty shocked when he sets eyes on Jade and his wolf immediately goes all possessive.

Jade is miles apart from his previous mate. She doesn't mind his job (in fact, it reminds her of growing up with her dad) and just seems to genuinely enjoy spending time with him. She's sassy and says what's on her mind which means Wyatt doesn't have to try to guess how she feels.

On Jade's end, she likes the big werewolf and is determined to show him they could be good together. She knows she can be a lot for others to deal with, but she also thinks maybe fate had it right when it matched the two of them together.

I'm enjoying watching these damaged wolves find their special someones. *thumbs up* all around.

When Abby shacked up with a werewolf from the feral pack, Stella feared the worst. That she being held against her will and the wolf holding her was just as bad as the wolf Stella ran from.

So she heads out to Moon Ridge to rescue her friend. And...her wolf decides the sexy guy with fuzzy pajama pants was EXACTLY the type she wanted for a mate. So she goes all furry and now she's stuck in wolf form with a sweet guy she doesn't know and a friend who is VERY pleased with her werewolf honey (and absolutely didn't need any rescuing).

On Graham's end, he's been rejected once and barely survived it. He doesn't know that he can go through that again if Stella decides to walk away. The good news? Stella's wolf has already chosen him, so he's NOT going to get rejected again. They just have to wait out the hunt until her wolf decides he's trustworthy enough for her bite.

A long hunt that ends up giving these two a chance to get to know one another (even though one of them is in their furry form), a guy who is wildly considerate and caring, and a lady who might initially be a little gun shy about mating, but her wolf knows what she wants. *thumbs up*

Thoughts on Take a Hike: The final Pax sister is up and Charlie is a firecracker. She has little to no filter, a casual disregard for personal safety, and a bit of a thing for the grumpy firefighter whose face seems to be permanently etched in a scowl. Yup, Kieran absolutely does it for her. From his head to his toes (and everything in between) to his irritated grunts and near-snarls, he's a treat to Charlie's senses.

While the reason Charlie and Felicity (and Bennett) are technically in Simpson is to catch Jane and make sure she makes her court appearance so the sisters don't lose their house, they're soon caught up in the goings on of Simpson. As in, they're welcomed (with open arms) into the Simpson Murder Club. Which is not a club that commits murders, but one that SOLVES them. Just so we're clear.

One of the murders they need to solve is one that has sexy firefighter Kieran as a person of interest. And as long as they're helping him clear his name, he might as well help them spring their trap to draw their mother out. I mean, fair's fair, RIGHT? Also, Kieran is sort of drawn to Charlie. She's surprisingly direct, isn't put off by his angry face, and makes him feeeeeeel things. Frankly these two are ADORABLE together from beginning to end.

With Jane's court date looming, a murder to solve, a militia to infiltrate (sort of), and treasure hunters to thwart, there's a lot going on here. As an added bonus, we get to spend time with the good folk of Simpson and see what Lou, Rory, Elle, Daisy and their special someones have been up to since their books. GOOD TIMES!

Mia is a human who doesn't quite fit into the great outdoors, but she's determined to step outside her comfort zone a little and search for a plant that might or might not be real. Kade is the guardian of the woods who doesn't understand why he's drawn to Mia, but who can't quite help falling for her charming enthusiasm.

Throw in a little danger when Kade (not to mention the woods and possibly the town of Fairhaven Falls itself) is threatened by the darkness slowly consuming the plant Mia is searching for and he and Mia have to team up to fight whatever this darkness is. Which works nicely since they team up *winkwink* well together.

A fun, quick read with just the right amount of spice. *thumbs up*

The village folk aren't terribly welcoming and business hasn't even started to pick up, but that fog creeping in from the trees kind of makes up for it.

Mostly because it isn't normal fog. But I guess Elizabeth isn't a normal woman, because it fascinates her. She watches it and it feels like it watches back. And then one night she finds out it is, indeed, watching back. As it turns out, she's okay with that. She's also okay with all the other things it wants to do to her.

A little danger, a village on edge, a monster in the fog, and a lady who is willing to embrace the dark (or the, umm, glowing thing in the dark) when it reaches for her. *thumbs up*

Thoughts on The Retired Assassin's Guide to Orchid Hunting: Dante and his friends are drawn into another investigation on a suspicious death when one of the prominent orchid expert in town dies during the orchid convention. Of course, the only reason they suspect foul play is because Charlie saw the deceased's spirit right after he died and he was clearly trying to tell Charlie something of importance. Something Charlie, unfortunately, didn't catch in the chaos of the moment.

Now he, Dante, and Eleanor are trying to figure out who could have killed the professor. They're hampered by the fact it looked like an accident, the suspects are only there for the convention (which isn't going to last forever), and Inspector Avery is in town. He SAYS he's on vacation, but his mere presence means they need to stay mostly within the confines of the law. Mostly.

The good news is that Eleanor and Dante are experts at working around the law. They're flexible moral stance on rules and regulations give them plenty of wiggle room in all things investigative. Also, it's possible the Inspector really IS on holiday. So, you know, maybe he'll be more of an asset than an obstacle.

Meanwhile, Dante is venturing out into entirely new territory and he's...kind of terrible at dating. Small talk, too, but that's not a surprise. Eleanor is handing out sage advice while flirting with the Inspector. Charlie is his usual sunshiny, sweet self. Who just so happens to se ghosts.

I'm REALLY enjoying this series. Watching scarily intense Dante trying to blend in is a delight. His worry over his cat, his disaster of a date, and his extreme protectiveness of his new friends is *chef's kiss*

Thoughts on Pillow Talk Killer: Full disclosure, I have a very difficult time talking myself into picking up the final book in a series. Not because I think it won't live up to the rest of the series or anything, but because I don't want to let series I've enjoyed go. So I'm patting myself on the back for convincing my unruly brain to dive in and watch it all play out.

And BOY did Anna have a lot to deal with. I mean, the PTK case has stumped the police and driven a dedicated homicide detective out of the force because not being able to catch the killer ate at him until he couldn't handle it. Nate's healed since those early days, but every time the PTK claims another victim his failure in stopping them hits him all over again.

Now PTK has come to the island and Anna is absolutely not going to sit idly by when she's 100% sure the police have arrested the wrong person. She starts following clues and her gut and puts herself in danger to find the truth.

No lie, this was a solid ending to Anna's series. She got closure on more than one front, saved the day (again!), and helped keep someone who matters to her out of prison. GOOD STUFF all around.

Thoughts on Healed by My Hyde: We're back in Fairhaven Falls and Dr. Victor Jackson is up. His special someone? Pregnant, independent (although maybe not entirely by choice) Chloe who's new to town, but who finds her groove pretty quickly. Partly thanks to Flora who sets her up with a job that suits her organizational skills perfectly.

Said job also gives her insight into Victor. By which I mean she's cataloging and organizing the town archives and she stumbles over (not literally) a journal written by one of his ancestors that helps Chloe understand the immense pressure Victor puts on himself to keep his monstrous side contained. TO BE CLEAR, Victor's Hyde isn't a monster. I mean, sure, he's a little feral and he'll do what needs to be done to protect those who need protecting, but he's not out of control like Victor fears.

Chloe see that immediately. It takes time and patience AND a wicked blizzard before she gets it through Victor's head that she's not afraid of his Hyde because she knows neither side of him would ever hurt her. Let's just say that the good doc has to learn to trust himself before things can really start moving forward with these two.

Some familiar faces, Flora doing some matchmaking (as she does), a big blizzard, a doctor who keeps himself rigidly regimented, and a lady who is willing to risk everything to give her baby the best life possible. *thumbs up*

Thoughts on The Goblin in the Sink Drain: Ana had her life upended when Rian and the Walsh clan moved into town and now she's trying to sort the truth from the lies over everything she's been told about her mother, her father, and what she is. Frankly, it's a lot. She doesn't quite trust the man who raised her, but she also isn't mentally ready to walk away from the only life she's known. As brutal and awful and constricting as it was.

She's also hesitant about trading one prison (her father's pack) with another (Rian's clan). Except, Rian doesn't rule his clan with fear. He's laidback and receptive to ideas that aren't his own. He's sweet and a little awkward and it's possibly his awkwardness that endears him to Ana the most. Well, that and his occasional shirtless state. To be fair, Rian also gets a little flustered when Ana shows any skin, so they have that in common.

When some of her human friends are made into unwilling pawns in this supernatural standoff, Ana can't let them suffer when she can do something about it. Since she needs to talk to the man who raised her anyway, she agrees to go back to the pack to save them while trying to get answers to some of the questions the Walsh's have raised in her.

Let's just say it doesn't go well and leave it at that.

BUT...Ana does get some of those answers. And she gets to see Rian in all his dragon-y glory. And then she gets to participate in a rescue, which gives her a chance to experience things she'd never experienced before. She also gets to make a choice on who she wants to stand with and I like where this is going!

I must say, I'm enjoying Ana and Rian and their sweet, awkward romance. I'm here to see how it plays out!
