Synopsis (Goodreads):
A ruthless alien, a lonely woman, and a dangerous plan…

Constance has everything she could possibly want - everything except freedom. The material luxuries her father provides are no substitute, especially since his only interest in her is as a pawn in one of his games.

When a massive alien warrior snatches her away from her gilded cage, she should be terrified. Instead she finds herself responding to the hidden loneliness behind that icy facade.

Kalpar learned long ago that females could not be trusted. His only loyalty is to his fellow warriors, and he will do anything to keep them safe - even kidnap the daughter of a ruthless crime lord.

Yet Constance is nothing like he expected. Her innocence, her trust, call to a part of him that he had buried long ago. But he needs answers and she is the key. Will he have to sacrifice her in order to protect his companions?
Thoughts on Kalpar: Kalpar's heading into the big city (so to speak) to see if he can figure out why Marshall Thompson keeps sending people to survey the warriors' land and things DO NOT go the way he expects. Mostly because the big guy had pretty much given up on even the idea of a special someone for him and suddenly Constance was there rousing all his protective instincts.

On the plus side, Kalpar landed a job as Constance's personal bodyguard. And he does guard her body well. Very well. On the downside, Constance's father is an utterly horrible individual and Kalpar has to take drastic measures to keep Constance safe. If that means taking his little human to the farm, so be it.

As for Constance, she hates the life her father has forced her into. While she knows her father is willing to go to any lengths to further his business interests, she's horrified when that means selling her to a terrible alien to be his wife. Let's just say Kalpar doesn't like that idea any more than she does and soon the two are on the run. And if THINGS HAPPEN while they're on the run, well then, THINGS HAPPEN.

A suffocating existence, twisted family dynamics, a little danger, a few voyeuristic displays, a warrior who doesn't believe he has a mate in his future, and the human woman who is determined to prove him wrong. YESSSSS.
