Review: The Scandalous, Dissolute, No-Good Mr. Wright by Tessa Dare

The Scandalous, Dissolute, No-Good Mr. Wright by Tessa Dare
Synopsis (Goodreads):
Miss Eliza Cade is a lady in waiting. And waiting.

Because of a foolish mistake in her youth, she's not allowed "out" in Society until her three older sisters are wed. But while she's trying to be good, she keeps bumping elbows—and, more distressingly, lips—with notorious rake Harry Wright. Every moment she spends with him, she risks complete ruin.

The sensual passions he stirs in her are so wrong . . . but Eliza just can't resist Mr. Wright.
My Thoughts: Now, I can't say that I've read a TON of Tessa Dare books at this point (this being only the 3rd), but I have LOVED each and every one of them that I have read. Her characters are delightful - flawed and honorable - and the more time they spend with their significant other, the more the hidden aspects of their personalities are revealed. Eliza and Harry illustrate this PERFECTLY. She sees him as a ... well, as a scandalous, dissolute, no-good man and she can't risk her already precarious reputation by indulging her unwilling fascination with him. Yet, they keep bumping into one another and things build and a grudging friendship blooms.

The push and pull of their relationship is fun to watch. He understands her wild side and her need to indulge it and he finds ways to let her be herself. She, on the other hand, wants nothing more than to put a childhood indiscretion behind her and she's *trying* to be good. But it's hard to cage that inner wild child and Harry is the perfect foil for her.

This was just one of those really sweet, really fun historicals (with a dose of the sexy, mind you) that hit the spot.
