Synopsis (Goodreads):
It's 1984, and Tanaka Katsu is paving his way in the Yakuza. His marriage to Yuki was a business deal, and one that he has paid for with his happiness.

Aphrodite can't stand that he's so miserable, and Hera, the goddess of marriage and monogamy, has a strong hold on Yuki, who will do whatever it takes to get what she believes is hers. Aphrodite won't sit by and watch Katsu's life slip away with no chance at love, so when he takes a trip to Vegas, she'll introduce him to his match.

Kim never thought she'd be in the situation like the one that's coming her way, but what the heart wants is a powerful thing, and one that's impossible to walk away from.
Thoughts on What the Heart Wants: Oh, the games these gods play with mortal lives. We met Katsu and Kim in book 2 and their romance was sweet and powerful. This is despite the fact that Katsu is essentially cheating on his wife and he and Kim can never steal more than brief moments together. They're tragic and yet their love shone through every time they spoke of one another.

When I say that I was REALLY looking forward to their story, I'm not lying. And, oh, what a fantastic story it is. We get Dita at her feathered-hair best as she puts the two of them together. We get passion and romance and one crazy lady who thinks the world owes her everything. I'm talking about Yuki, there, not Hera, by the way.

Sexy times, a bit of danger, and an ending that was absolutely perfect. This short story lives up to the previous books and adds a nice layer of hairspray and poofy skirts to the mix. Now, really. Who can resist poofy skirts and feathered hair? On a goddess, no less. *slow thumbs up*
