Synopsis (Goodreads):
Life is never black and white.

It’s a fact Josie knows too well, right next to wanting what you can’t have. And even though Jon is her friend and colleague, he pushes those boundaries on the regular. There are times when she feels like she can’t escape him, and others where she doesn’t want to.

The tension twists tighter every time they meet, but Jon’s unavailable. Live-in girlfriend of years unavailable. As much as Josie cares about him, and as much as she wants more, his flirting is a cruel tease. Unfair. And she’ll push him away if she has to, if that’s what it takes to protect herself.

As far as Aphrodite’s concerned, Jon and Josie getting together is inevitable. But keeping them together may be harder than any of them realize, and what Josie thinks is her happy ending may just turn out to be fool’s gold.
Thoughts on Fool's Gold: Oh, hey, Staci Hart. If you want to give my heart back after ripping it out that would be awesome. No? You're okay with toying with my emotions? I understand. You evil, evil fiend.

Yeah, I'm cool with this book. It was amazing and the sex was smoking and I hate you so much right now. What's that? You want me to go back and read book 3 again to really drive home the pain Josie and Jon BOTH had to deal with after a certain unnamed god stepped in and effed up their lives? *sobs bitter tears of soul crippling pain* Sure. I can do that.

I CAN DO THAT.

In fact, I might just. I NEED THEM TO HAVE SOME HAPPINESS AFTER THE CRAPSTORM THAT WAS DUMPED ON THEM IN THE END.

For the record, this book really is amazing. It's painful because if you've read book 3 you know what's coming for them. You know their happiness is fleeting this time. IT HURTS. It's like a train wreck you can't look away from. Honestly, their utter joy at finding one another is bittersweet and terrible and WHY DO YOU DO THIS TO ME, STACI HART??? WHYYYYYYYYY?

For the record, I hate Hera.

Oh, and I hate Hera.

No, I REALLY hate Hera.

God, this book was good.
