Synopsis (Goodreads):
Nobody knows who Miss Rose Sweetly is, and she prefers it that way. She’s a shy, mathematically-minded shopkeeper’s daughter who dreams of the stars. Women like her only ever come to attention through scandal. She’ll take obscurity, thank you very much.

All of England knows who Stephen Shaughnessy is. He’s an infamous advice columnist and a known rake. When he moves into the house next door to Rose, she discovers that he’s also wickedly funny, devilishly flirtatious, and heart-stoppingly handsome. But when he takes an interest in her mathematical work, she realizes that Mr. Shaughnessy isn’t just a scandal waiting to happen. He’s waiting to happen to her…and if she’s not careful, she’ll give in to certain ruination.
Thoughts on Talk Sweetly to Me: Courtney Milan has charmed me yet again with her lovely, sweet, incredible characters. From Rose, who hides herself away in dusty rooms and doesn't often show the world her incredible mind, to Stephen, who sees something in Rose that calls to him and makes him want to be there for her.

I loooooved how Stephen tried so hard to give her moments that meant something to her. When he said he'd have to keep on not hurting her until she trusted he never would slayed me. *swoony swoony swoon swoon*

From the prejudices Rose and her sister faced (scowly face to the doctor) to Stephen's willingness to learn about the things that gave Rose joy (mathematics. Lots and lots of mathematics.) to Rose finally opening her heart and accepting that someone like him could fall for someone like her, I was hooked.

Now I just need to go back and pick up the books in the series I missed. Because Courtney Milan.

    1. The only ones I haven't read are books 3 and 4. I'm good otherwise.
