Synopsis (Goodreads):
Ghoulies. Ghosties. Long-legged beasties. Things that go bump in the night... The Price family has spent generations studying the monsters of the world, working to protect them from humanity—and humanity from them. Enter Verity Price. Despite being trained from birth as a cryptozoologist, she'd rather dance a tango than tangle with a demon, and is spending a year in Manhattan while she pursues her career in professional ballroom dance. Sounds pretty simple, right? It would be, if it weren't for the talking mice, the telepathic mathematicians, the asbestos supermodels, and the trained monster-hunter sent by the Price family's old enemies, the Covenant of St. George. When a Price girl meets a Covenant boy, high stakes, high heels, and a lot of collateral damage are almost guaranteed. To complicate matters further, local cryptids are disappearing, strange lizard-men are appearing in the sewers, and someone's spreading rumors about a dragon sleeping underneath the city...
Thoughts on Discount Armageddon: Monsters of both the good and bad variety, ball room dancing, a deep-seated grudge between...err, monster hunters and monster likers? I mean the Prices aren't monster-lovers, exactly. They like the monsters who don't prey on humans. Ehh...I'll just go with sympathizers and leave it at that.

The point I'm trying to make here is that there is a WHOLE LOT going on in this book. Monsters and mayhem and old things long forgotten. And some sexy times. Because sometimes you just can't resist the allure of a hard-bodied man who brings you food. AMIRITE OR AMIRITE?!?!

Anywho. Verity. The Price who likes to dance (as opposed to the Price who goes cave diving in hellish places [literally], the Price who digs pit traps during hide and seek, and the Price who is breeding cryptids down south. This family is basically awesome. TRUST ME.)...I lost my train of thought after that aside. Let me get back on. Verity's doing her thing. Which involves keeping Manhattan safe for both cryptids and humans. While cocktail waitressing. And hitting the ballroom dancing scene. Her life is weird, but it in the best sort of way.

You know, if you're into free running and bumping elbows with harpies and sexy dudes with a whole lot of training and resources and FANTASTIC arms. Really, who ISN'T into that?

I have to say, I'm looking forward to where this series takes me next!
