Synopsis (Goodreads):
Teagan Cross, college senior, rebel, and wiseass extraordinaire, goes from princess to pauper in a single phone call. Overnight, her life of privilege becomes one of survival, and no matter where she turns, it seems like the world is out to get her. She's not going to fall apart, though. She's a rebel and she's strong … determined to live life on her own terms … and nothing's going to stop her from getting things done and making things right. But when a twist of fate brings her to the doorstep of a different kind of Rebel, she's forced to figure out when something's worth fighting for and when something's worth letting go.Thoughts on Rebel: I liked this book overall, although sometimes Teagan acted like the biggest bubble head. Her blundering scored her a sweet gig at Rebel's shop, though, so I guess I can overlook it. Rebel seemed to like her well enough despite her weirdness, anyway. Well, at least he did once he allowed himself to show something.
Yeah, stoic dudes who act unaffected by the world are hard to figure out sometimes. Well, wait. I say that, but Rebel did some awfully nice things for Teagan when the situation called for it. So maybe he wasn't so hard to figure out.
Anyway. Teagan goes from being on top of the world to being high and dry overnight. Which blows. She rallies and ends up at Rebel's and *somehow* convinces him to let her work for him. THINGS HAPPEN and, as we all know, getting nekkid with your boss leads to some painfully awkward moments.
Oh, and there are some bad dudes dogging her footsteps. Which, naturally, brings out all Rebel's protective instincts.
Although Rebel and Teagan's relationship is tied up nicely in this book, there's still PLENTY going on in Teagan's life. Like the whole thing with her father, which looks like it goes through all three books. So, be warned - relationshippy stuff is good, there are still unanswered questions hanging out there.
