Synopsis (Goodreads):
If anyone ever said being an adult was easy, they hadn't been one long enough.

Diana Casillas can admit it: she doesn't know what the hell she's doing half the time. How she's made it through the last two years of her life without killing anyone is nothing short of a miracle. Being a grown-up wasn’t supposed to be so hard.

With a new house, two little boys she inherited the most painful possible way, a giant dog, a job she usually loves, more than enough family, and friends, she has almost everything she could ever ask for.

Except for a boyfriend.

Or a husband.

But who needs either one of those?
Thoughts on Wait For It: We originally met Diana in Vanessa and Aiden's book and...I didn't love her. She was loud and a little on the abrasive side, but she was also dealing with things. So, you know, I get that. Plus, seeing as that was Van and Aiden's story, we didn't get inside Diana's head.

Getting inside her head makes a difference. Because, yeah, she's loud and she *can* be abrasive, but she also has a good heart. Dealing with everything she's had to deal with in the last two years hasn't been easy, but she's figuring things out. Becoming a parent to her nephews pretty much overnight made her grow up in ways she didn't expect and that's part of living, right?

On top of all that, she has her broody, sexy neighbor. The one who blows hot and cold and confuses her without trying. Dallas might have his reasons, but it takes a long time for him to explain them and that leaves Diana floundering. Well, wait. Not really floundering. She accepts his weirdness and moves on as best she can while appreciating that she has a hot, kind neighbor she kinda wants to grope.

The good thing about Dallas taking his time putting some moves on her is that it gives their relationship time to develop. And develop it does. In that slow, sexy way Mariana Zapata excels at. Honestly, I didn't know how much I could appreciate a slow-burn romance until her books.

I kinda loved the character crossover and reading this book reminded me that I have Kulti waiting. So, you know, that's next up on my to-read list now.
