Synopsis (Goodreads):
Betrayed and set adrift…

Months before she’s set to walk down the aisle, assistant district attorney Brooklyn Lewis suffers an unthinkable loss. It’s bad enough her fiancĂ© is violently taken from her, but along with her grief she must also process the fact that the man of her dreams was unfaithful. Friends and family want to see her heal, but Brooklyn doesn’t know how to move on from trauma and deception until she discovers she’s not the only one broken by this tragedy.

A light in the storm…

Attorney Vaughn Coleman and his partner Chris Shaw have also lost the love of their lives, who was found lifeless in the same bed as Brooklyn’s fiancĂ©, taken from them by the same killer.

Unmoored by grief, Brooklyn, Chris, and Vaughn fall into a relationship that both fulfills them and threatens to pull them under the waves of guilt, but they soon realize it may take the love of three people to bring their battered ships back to shore.

*This romance features a polyamorous relationship between two men and a woman, with BDSM overtones*
Thoughts on Harbor: Brooklyn dealing with both the loss of her fiance and the brutal realization of his infidelity through that act was ROUGH. The lady had to figure out how to grieve and hide her anger over his actions all at the same time. She dealt with it as best she could, but it was tough to see her trying to stay strong while inwardly avoiding dealing with all the pent up emotions his betrayal caused.

In the same boat, Vaughn and Shaw as "just" the boyfriends of the other woman had their own grief and anger to process. Not being told about their girlfriend's death until several days after the fact was pretty rough in itself. Like Brook, they were in the dark about their girlfriend's affair and not being able to find closure to her cheating put cracks in their relationship with one another.

Basically, I felt for all three of them and was rooting for them from the first time Vaughn approached Brook. (And although it took quite some time before they were all on the same page, it was well worth it.)

There's some emotional juggling as the three of them find how they fit together. There's an expectation of truth and frankness that's needed by everyone both because of the BDSM relationship they're embarking on and the hurt their significant others did to each of them with their lies. Brook is hurt and wary of trusting both her judgement and her heart to someone again. Vaughn is leery of going to fast and hard emotionally with Brooklyn and damaging what he sees in their future. And Shaw...Shaw's dealing with the baggage of being rejected by his family when he was a young man and... actually, I think that's it. He uses Vaughn's big heart as a crutch because it's sometimes easier to use the barrier of protecting those you love than it is to face the truth about your own insecurities.

Like I said, I was rooting for them to figure things out and it took some frank talk between sisters to get Brook to the point she was willing to take a chance. *thumbs up*
