Synopsis (Goodreads):
Welcome to Keating Hollow, the village full of love, magic, and cupcakes, and where nothing is more important than family.

At age eighteen, after a potion tragically backfired, Abby Townsend left Keating Hollow and her magic behind to find redemption. Ten years later, after being summoned by her family, she’s back. As soon as she drives into town, she’s already plotting her inevitable exit, but she can’t quite escape the pull of the tightly knit magical community or the soulful gaze of the one man she’s never forgotten. And when an eight-year old witch not only leads her back to her magic, but also steals her heart, Abby’s about to learn what it means to embrace the soul of a witch.
Thoughts on Soul of the Witch:  I'm heading into Keating Hollow and all the witchy shenanigans it holds. First up: Abby and Clay.

To say Abby has a few issues with certain events in her past might be understating things. The lady's a wreck. She blames herself for her best friend's death ten years before and she's basically shut down her magical side in her guilt. Her family...I know they meant well with some of their actions, but the way they went about things wasn't for me.

As for Clay, he moved on for the most part after Abby left town, but his heart was still with her. So when she showed up again after ten long years, he had to come to terms with that. With some messy family dynamics going on partnered with his feelings for Abby, things were a little complicated.

A little friction (of more than one variety), a lot of guilt, and plenty of baggage to deal with on both sides of the relationship. I must say that Keating Hollow seems like a fun place to settle into for a spell.
