Synopsis (Goodreads):
Lilah isn't sure what hurt worse: the day Ethan left her to focus on his hockey career or the day he came back eight years later. He might think they can pick up just where they left off, but she's no longer that same girl and never wants to be again.Thoughts on The Good Luck Charm: Aww, yes. A second chance romance with two people who haven't been able to stop loving one another despite the years and miles between them. Lilah and Ethan are sometimes antagonistic, always steamy, and just stubborn enough to make things work. Eventually.
Ethan wants his glory days back. And that includes having Lilah by his side. With her, he was magic. They were magic. All he has to do is make her see that.
Just when Lilah might finally be ready to let Ethan in, though, she finds out their reunion might have nothing to do with love and everything to do with improving his game. But Ethan's already lost her once, and even if it costs him his career, he'll do anything to keep from losing her again.
That said, the making things work part took time. Lilah is still heartsore after their first breakup. In part because Ethan did it horribly and in part because he was such a huge part of her life that losing him broke her in some ways. She rallied, though, and forced herself to keep moving forward even if it wasn't with the guy she thought it would be with.
As for Ethan, he did what he thought was best at the time and he's...well, he's forced himself not to regret it. Because Lilah's moved on and he's happy for her. Right? If she's content, he's happy. Except he's not. He's lost and coming back home - and back into Lilah's life - is kind of the very thing he needed.
Like I said, though, these two are stubborn. Lilah doesn't trust Ethan not to leave her again. Ethan sees her as a bit of a good luck charm when it comes to his playing. They have to find themselves and figure things out before they can have their HEA.
