Synopsis (Goodreads):
In an aging Victorian on a tree-lined street in Oldetowne, the Brackenbridge witches have practiced the craft for generations in a circle unbroken — until the chain was passed to her.

Ousted from her coven, hurting for clients, and struggling to keep her aging family home from falling into disrepair, painfully awkward witch Ladybug is at the end of her rope. When she rents the attic bedroom to an unsmiling, spider-like araneaen, she hopes her fortunes are making a change for the better. But Ladybug knows nothing about the secretive spider-folk; not what they eat, what goddess they worship — or anything about their mating needs. The blustery winds of Autumn usher in the rain and the second harvest . . . and a strangely enticing smell that seems to permeate the seams of Ladybug's very existence. The darkness beyond her bedroom door hungers, and she is helpless to offer herself up as its feast.
Thoughts on The Mabon Feast: A witch who's been cast out of her coven and a silent, lonely araneaen are sharing space (well, sharing a big, slightly run-down house) and THINGS HAPPEN. Eventually. Both of them are in a rough place mentally when they meet and it takes time for them to find their footing. With themselves and with one another.

Plus, there's the whole issue that arises with Anzan. You know, the mating issue. Seeing as how Ladybug knows little about his people, she's unaware of what's going on at first. She does her best to make him feel welcome and she tries to include him in her life when she can, but things don't come to a head until Anzan goes into his heat. With his pheromones invading the house, suddenly she's thinking about her new tenant in a slightly more wicked light.

As it turns out, wicked works nicely for both of them.

I'm new to the Cambric Creek world and I must say I LIKE the monster-loving here. A witch and a spider-like male. NICE!
