Synopsis (Goodreads):
Zoologist Mika Yadama has her hands full exploring a new alien world - the only problem is that the planet itself keeps trying to kill her. And the one male assigned to be her guide seems to be keeping his distance.

Kol ad Naals wants nothing more than to give in to temptation and drag Mika off to his bed, yet she’s leaving in six weeks. He’s lost enough people already, and he won’t allow himself to care for the human.

That would be easier if she didn’t put herself in constant danger - rescuing her from certain death ties them together whether he likes it or not.

But the environment and the lethal alien species aren’t the only threats to their relationship, and as a series of mysterious break-ins occurs in the capital, Kol’s duty to his queen and his nation must come first. If only it didn’t mean letting go of the only woman he ever wanted to keep.
Thoughts on Cold Temptation: The next ad Naals brother is up and he's just as confused about his feelings as Taron was. To make things even more complicated, Mika is NOT good at deciphering social cues of the human variety, which means she's equally bad (if not worse) at deciphering alien ones. She also doesn't want to come across as a level five clinger and stick around where she's not wanted.

What I'm trying to say is these two have some THINGS going on. They're both a little tangled up and I AM HERE FOR IT.

So. Kol isn't interested in getting attached only to have Mika leave when the humans head back to earth. So he pushes her away and tries to keep his distance. Except he's already a little smitten and he keeps putting himself back in her orbit. Which confuses Mika. Because Kol is confusing. And confused. I mean, the guy wants Mika, but he doesn't want to want Mika.

On Mika's end, she (as previously mentioned) isn't good at deciphering social cues. Which means she questions whether she read too much into Kol's attention when he pulls away. Which then leads to her pulling away. Let's juts say there's a lot of pushing and pulling.

Some alone time in an icy cavern, a lady who makes quick friends with anything of the animal persuasion, some danger, a little betrayal, and two people who generate some heat when things get going. *thumbs up*
