KATThoughts on A Monster's Fate: Things are coming to a head with the people trying to hide the Utopia project and Kat is caught in the middle of it all. Mostly because her position as an assistant to one of the people in charge gives her access to information she's been passing along to the Kadrixans and rebels. Unfortunately for her, her boss has developed something of an unhealthy obsession with her and her information-spreading days look to be at an end.
My prestigious new job as the assistant to a colony leader starts as an honor. Then I stumble across the colony’s dirty little secrets. Hell-bent on exposing the atrocities, I reach out to a rebel group to feed them information.
Too quickly, the jig is up. I manage one last message to my rebel contact, Zach, before I’m locked in the mad councilman’s basement.
When Trask arrives, he claims to be my contact. He’s huge and horned with wings that darken the sky. I know he’s lying because Zach is human, but when the monster steals me into the air, I hold on for dear life.

Kat has risked everything and played a critical role in keeping everyone in our stronghold safe. So when I receive her desperate message, I embark on a rescue mission. I refuse to leave anyone—Kadrixan or human—behind. Especially her.
I venture into the heart of enemy territory to find the little human. But when I finally have her in my arms and tell her I am Zach, my little Kat doesn’t believe me!
I am a patient warrior, though. Once we’re safe, I have forever to convince Kat she is mine. But first, I need to get us out of here.
Except, her contact on the outside is one of the Kadrixans and he's not about to leave Kat in the hands of people who will hurt her. So Trsak stages a rescue and soon the two are on the run as they work their way back to the stronghold. Good thing hunter-drones and wild creatures are no match for a Kadrixan who is determined to keep his special someone safe.
That said, things are still a little dicey once they get back to the stronghold because Kat's very public former job has some people not so thrilled to have her around.
A dangerous roadtrip (or sorts) through dangerous territory, impractical shoes, a little betrayal, a steamy night or two spent in a cabin, a warrior who will do anything he needs to do to keep his special someone, and a lady who is determined to make a difference. GOOD TIMES!
