Synopsis (Goodreads):
After traveling to Bethesda for a mystery writers’ conference, Jessica Fletcher decides she’s earned a vacation and takes a train to Columbia, South Carolina, to visit her old college friend Dolores, who has recently married her third husband, Willis Nickens, a wealthy and cutthroat businessman. They’ve moved into an opulent historic home with plenty of space for guests, and Jessica is ready for a week of shopping, gossiping, and relaxing at the grand estate.

But the morning after she arrives, Jessica discovers Willis facedown in the koi pond, and despite what the police think, she’s sure foul play is involved. She hadn’t known Willis long, but it’s clear to her that he didn’t concern himself with making friends. The question isn’t if her friend’s husband was murdered but by whom.
Thoughts on Killing in a Koi Pond: I will freely admit that I have a soft spot for Jessica Fletcher and her ability to solve some crime. While these books aren't *quite* as good as the TV series (sorry, but nobody gives head shakes of disappointment quite like Dame Angela Lansbury does, she's a sorely missed treasure IMO), I'm excited to get to delve into some new criming that our erstwhile amateur detective can solve.

So. As often happens to Jessica Fletcher, a vacation to visit an old friend ends up with her working to solve a murder. Her friend's husband's murder, as it turns out. There are shady business deals to investigate, some custody issues to delve into, and PLENTY of suspects to go around.

Which means Jessica has to work her way through the clues, wrangle the truth out of people who would rather not tell it, and try to figure out who did the deed before her vacation is up. All in all, a fun way to revisit a series I enjoy. *thumbs up*
