Not by choice, mind you, but because she could have either followed her dream or done what needed to be done to save her mother. For her, it wasn't a choice at all. So she's now at the royal academy learning how to fight the things that stalk the night.

To say she's out of her element might be an understatement. She's dealing with panic attacks, fellow trainees who are out to prove they're the best, and an inconvenient attraction to the High Prince. Who happens to be her instructor.
