Synopsis (Goodreads):
Deep in the isolated Blackwood Nature Reserve, a wildlife photographer's spring expedition turns into something far more primal. In the dark forest, the night has eyes, and every shadow is watching. Gwen is about to experience everything the forest has to offer. As the line between violation and ecstasy blurs, she will become the vessel for a terrifying spring ritual.
Thoughts on Wildflowers: I'm enjoying this series because it's delightfully whacked out and I'm here for exactly that. BUT...spiders, man. Creeping horror of the creepingest kind. Spiders that need a host. Spiders that can communicate. Spiders that have chosen a human woman as their breeding vessel. *stares in concerned horror*

Yeah. Gwen got WAY more than she bargained for when she took this trip. While it was terrifying and she wasn't really given a choice on being chosen (thank you, temporary paralyzing venom!), she also...didn't hate it? Like, she kind of did, but she also didn't. I mean, main spider dude made THINGS happen and she was kind of down with that.

I really don't know how I feel about this. Mostly because spiders aren't my thing, but Gwen was into it. And they were into her. Literally. And she walked away at the end with an open invitation to return the next year, so...YOLO GWEN! Or YOLO year after year, I guess.
