My Thoughts: This series is one that acts like a punch to the gut more often than not. This time, I had to quietly put my Kindle down and let myself unwind at one point because OMG! ALL THIS STUFF WAS HAPPENING AND IT WAS KILLING ME! *breathes deeply*

Here's the thing, I don't always agree with the choices Secret makes but I can appreciate why she makes them. She's a complicated lady with a complicated life. Lucas messed up her relationship with Desmond (who I ADORE) and yet she still has responsibilities to the pack. Desmond was deeply hurt by what Secret did with Lucas and he's had to take some time to regroup. Holden is... well, he's Holden. As much as Secret might wish otherwise, all their lives are tangled up and sometimes there are no easy answers to the way she feels.

Seriously, so much stuff happens here. Secret gets a chance to live out her deepest dream but it comes at a wickedly high price. She's being hunted by someone looking to steal her power. She's rebuilding herself while trying to balance the demands of the vampire council, the werewolves, and her business partner. It's fantastic and a little heartbreaking and STUFF HAPPENS.

Holy smokes. Book 6 might just kill me.
