Review: Lucifer's Daughter by Eve Langlais

Lucifer's Daughter (Princess of Hell #1) by Eve Langlais
Synopsis (Goodreads):
Being Lucifer’s daughter can be hell.

Hi, I’m Muriel, the only white sheep in a sea of black ones, and a virgin to boot. I am determined to wait for love, but my dad, more commonly known as Lucifer, just wants me to stop being an embarrassment. I’m hoping the hunk that I met in my bar will turn out to be the one–just looking at him makes my insides melt like marshmallows over the coals of hell, but trusting is hard when it seems everyone I get close to ends up trying to kill me.

Not only am I dealing with an extreme case of lust, there’s a new threat in hell, one my dad says to ignore. Something easier said than done since it seems everywhere I turn demons are trying to kill me. But I’m okay with that, because one thing I’ve learned being a princess of hell is that sometimes I have to grab a demon by the horns and slap it around a bit.

A rebellion in hell, demon assassins and scorching kisses, could my life get any more interesting?
My Thoughts: Another strong, badass female from Eve Langlais. This one just happens to be the virginal daughter of Lucifer. I thought it was hilarious that she refused to give herself to someone who wasn't "the one" while her dear old dad kept urging her to get her sin on.

Muriel is powerful. She knows her mind. When she meets Auric, the attraction is immediate. Watching her dance around that attraction was fun, fun, fun. Speaking of which, Auric isn't all he seems. He's got his own power and his own agenda. At least at first. Then he tangles up with Muriel and things get sweaty from there.

Once again, a well plotted storyline with dastardly bad guys, a whole mess of secrets and some rather odd family dynamics kept me enthralled. Muriel might not be your typical virgin but her man can handle her. His big sword helps, I'm sure.

  1. This looks great! I feel a little disturbed that her dad encourages her to "get her sin on" ... BUT I like that there's humour mixed in. I'll definitely have to try this out! Even if just to see if Auric's sword works for her. ;)

    1. Well, he is Lucifer. It wouldn't do for it to get around that his daughter is pure and virginal, would it? Lol! It's actually not squick worthy. It's funny. I promise!

  2. The title of this book--for whatever reason--reminds me of the story you wrote with your syphilis riddled character named after your cousin. Good times, good times.

    2. How is your syphilis-riddled character, by the way?

    3. When last I left her, she was trapped in the bowels of hell (literally, although it's more like a giant corporate tower) and was... doing something. Maybe.

This is a good question. *stares at you in perplexity*

    4. Have you left her without completion, too?

    5. Yes. She's been left even longer than Roan has! Poor girl.

  3. This sounds delightful in a wierd way. I think only Lucifer could make me giggle at telling his daughter to get it on ;)

    1. Eve Langlais' books are very, very fun. And yes, I think Lucifer is one of the few guys who could get away with that and make it humorous.
