#boutofbooks 6.0 Wrap-Up

Bout of Books 6.0 is over. :( Now, did I manage to do what I wanted to do? I'd say... yes.

Let's recap, shall we:
Time Devoted to Reading
I was in for the long haul, folks. THE LONG HAUL. That's right, I dedicated the entire week to the read-a-thon and I don't regret a minute of it!

My Goals
I was aiming for 10 books overall this week. I didn't read quite as many of my review requests that I had been planning on, but I think I made up for it in the Seriously Series section. *thumbs up* to that!

    Updates

Number of books I’ve read today: 4
Total number of books I’ve read: 4
Books read: The Vampire From Hell, Kissing Phoenix, Release, The Summoning
Today #insixwords: Best Six Minutes of Your Life!
Things I learned on Twitter: The Twitter chat was fun! I admitted that I enjoy reading tentacle erotica. I drank a lot of coffee. Amanda reposted the tweet about the time I turned her into a cannibal serial killer. GOOD TIMES!
Final Tally: One kinda vampire, one rockstar vampire, one Protector, and one kickass Necromancer!

    1/8
Number of books I’ve read today: 5
Total number of books I’ve read: 9
Books read: Hunter's Choice, Blacklisted, A Dark Grave, Cat's Meow, Merrick's Destiny
Today #insixwords: Sexy, hot reads trump cold weather.
Things I learned on Twitter: I'm still mildly (yeah right!) obsessed with Rehvenge_BDB. I also admitted my love of #NakedWerewolves. *smooshes all the #NakedWerewolves together and rolls around in them* Oh, and does anybody remember the time the Nieceling tried to put a beard on her cat? Yeah. Good times. Good times.
Final Tally: One misguided vigilante, one innocent caught in the crossfire, one neatly screwy world, one shapeshifter fighting for his mate, and one badass werewolf who won't stop until the moon does.

    1/9
Number of books I’ve read today: 2
Total number of books I’ve read: 11
    Books read: Highlander Reborn, Apparition
Today #insixwords: Tasty coffee, Twitter jail, good books!
Things I learned on Twitter: Actually, other than hosting the chat, I wasn't on Twitter much. *gasp* THAT'S NO GOOD! That usually doesn't happen until Friday or so. However, I did find the time to admit to my debilitating fear of clowns. For someone who hates clowns as much as I do, I sure do end up talking about them a lot. *shudders*
Final Tally: One vampiric highlander and one insidious evil creeping into normal lives.

    1/10
Number of books I’ve read today: 3
Total number of books I’ve read: 14
Books read: The Awakening, Kaibab Unbound, Darkest Powers Bonus Pack #1
Today #insixwords: Crazy morning, a much better evening.
Things I learned on Twitter: Shout out to @Shaunesay for pointing me in the direction of the Iron Druid short story. *loves on it hard* I forgot to flip back over to my twitter handle from the chat on Wednesday and there were *issues* this morning. Then I forgot to eat lunch and I was HUNGRY and ate bacon. Which led (quite naturally, I must say) into a mention or ten about bacon during the evening announcements. Mmmm. Bacon.
Final Tally: One group of supernatural kids being hunted by diabolical madmen, one #NakedDruid, and one teenage werewolf trying to figure things out.

    1/11
Number of books I’ve read today: 3
Total number of books I’ve read: 17
Books read: Early to Death, Early to Rise, Gray Moon Rising, Savage Angel
Today #insixwords: Umm... what day is it again?
Things I learned on Twitter: Okay, this wasn't on Twitter but while chatting today, I was sending Amanda links to explanations of sexual activities. I WIN, INTERNET! I WIN! The LOLZ are rolling out of me right now! Seriously. This was the #BestSixMinutesOfMyLife. Amanda's too, I'M SURE! On an unrelated note (no really, this has nothing to do with the other thing!), Amanda has a new cover photo for her On a Book Bender Facebook page and I kinda love it!
Final Tally: One dark timekeeper who believes in choice, one powerful werewolf on the run, and one warrior descended from angels.

    1/12
Number of books I’ve read today: 3
Total number of books I’ve read: 20
Books read: The Reckoning, Roar and Liv, Hunter's Prey
Today #insixwords: Tired, engrossed, loving these awesome books.
Things I learned on Twitter: The Twitter chat was a hoot! I reviewed a shit-ton of books today. I somehow got completely distracted from my blog housekeeping tasks I was planning on doing. And my mom's cat has learned how to open closed doors. Which is utterly freaky on so many levels. Oh! This Bout of Books is now officially my best ever. And there's still one day left! Eep!
Final Tally: One satisfying ending to a series, one heartbreaking parting, and one bloodthirsty bloodhound dealing death to his enemies.

    1/13
Number of books I’ve read today: 4
Total number of books I’ve read: 24
Books read: 44, Highland Games, GLA-centric, Contract to Pleasure
Today #insixwords: What's that? BoB 6.0 has ended?
Things I learned on Twitter: I got to see my @Rehvenge_BDB end up in a compromising position, quote some Bring It On, and... maybe that was it. I love co-hosting Bout of Books, but MAN am I tired by the time day 7 rolls around. Zzzzzz.
Final Tally: One haunted girl, one time-traveling Scot, some dirty erotica, and one sexy alien.

Final Thoughts: This is my most successful Bout of Books to date. Not only did the overall read-a-thon go very smoothly from a hosting perspective, I read more books this time than in any previous read-a-thon. Kelley Armstrong's Darkest Powers series tempted me into a full reread (LOVE those books) and I am SO PLEASED with how many series books I was able to knock off overall.

Thank you to everyone who commented and cheered, read and chatted! I had a great time!
Make sure you're following the Bout of Books blog so you know when the next Bout of Books rolls around.

Lol! Thank you! I am lucky that I can focus my entire week on BoB (both hosting and reading) without having any pesky distractions (excluding my kidling and niece - who is VERY distracting all by herself). It's a week for me. I love it!
