Review: Changeling Moon by Dani Harper

Changeling Moon (Changeling #1) by Dani Harper
Synopsis (Goodreads):
He roams the moonlit wilderness, his every sense and instinct on high alert. Changeling wolf Connor Macleod and his Pack have never feared anything--until the night human Zoey Tyler barely escapes a rogue werewolf's vicious attack.

As the full moon approaches, Zoey has no idea of the changes that are coming, and only Connor can show her what she is, and help her master the wildness inside. With her initiation into the Pack just days away and a terrifying predator on the loose, the tentative bonds of trust and tenderness are their only weapons against a force red in tooth, claw... and ultimate evil.
My Thoughts: I really enjoyed this book. It was an interesting start to a series with characters that were fun and full of shapeshifter-y goodness. Sexy, sexy shapeshifter-y goodness. No joke.

Not going to lie, the Macleod clan is fascinating. All those long-lived siblings and the different stories they'll be able to tell when their time comes -- <3. Connor's story broke my heart in places (Oh, farm!) and his acceptance that it was unlikely he'd find his own mate after all these years without one did me in. Yes, the stoic male who has given up on finding his own true love is kind of a literary kink of mine. Right next to amnesiac vampires and snowbound friends-turned-lovers. Just go with it.

While the overall world doesn't offer much in the way of *new* things to add to the existing legions of werewolf books out there (with the exclusion of the way a shifter can have their animal side suppressed -- shudder worthy and I can see SO MUCH potential for drama if that fell into the wrong hands), the characters were fun to read about. Added plus -- there was a lot of groundwork laid for what could be a goodly number of books down the road. That excites me. I like potential. It opens so many doors.

Bottom line: I liked this book enough to want to continue the series. It was fun and sexy enough to whet my appetite for more. *thumbs up*

  1. I have to look but I think I have this one. It does sound like it was a solid start to a series :) Book 1 is hardly ever my favorite.

    1. Book 1 books are tough. But, yeah, solid start. Likeable characters. All that jazz.

    1. I have a lot of literary kinks, don't I? Amnesiac vampires, Rehvenge_BDB, the snowed in at the cabin scenario. *rolls around in the kinks*

      *pauses*
OMG! An amnesiac Rehvenge trapped in a cabin with me during a snowstorm! SOMEBODY WRITE THIS!
