Series Review: Divine Fornication by Aimelie Aames

Having read the Her Billionaire, Her Wolf series not too long ago, I was intrigued to see more in that world. Aimelie Aames has crafted a dark, sexy group of supernaturals who can be both vicious and kind -- sometimes simultaneously.

The Divine Fornication series is the precursor to the Her Billionaire, Her Wolf series, which I highly recommend.
Seduced by the Angel (Divine Fornication #1)
Synopsis (Goodreads):
Claire Sawyer's life is about to change in a way that she never could have imagined.

Blind since a terrible childhood accident, she dies for the second time in her relatively short life only to find herself in the arms of an angelic being.

Is he her guardian angel, or the monster responsible for the death of her parents so many years ago?

Claire will search for her answers as she is swept up into events involving the divine and their relation to the vampires and werewolves that she encounters in her incredible journey to discover the truth.
My Thoughts: Part one of this series introduces Claire and the circumstances that left her blinded in a terrible accident. Although we don't get many answers as to why she's important to the cadre of supernatural critters who populate the rest of the story, we do get to see her independent nature and how she's willing to embrace life (or one hunky supernatural guy!) when the situation arises.

Interesting premise, sexy and potentially dangerous characters, along with Aimelie Aames' trademark cliffhangers will leave you ready to see how Claire gets out of the situation she's in. Have book 2 ready and waiting. You'll want it.

Taken by the Vampire (Divine Fornication #2)
Synopsis (Goodreads):
Claire awakens in a hospital room to find a man sitting quietly, waiting for her.

Except that he is no ordinary man, adorned as he is with dark wings and burning in black flames.

Is it the angel of death, come to take her away at last? Or is he the lord of all vampires, come to steal the prize from his adversary, the Messenger, the being who has healed Claire's blindness?

Flying high above the city lights in his cold arms, Claire shall find herself brought to a lonely fortress where blood drinkers await her and werewolves roam the darkness, all of them waiting for the ravishment to come.
My Thoughts: Part 2 throws Claire into the midst of the dark, voracious vampires and gives us a brief glimpse of the wolves who fight against them. As an added plus, we get to meet Daniel, a creature who plays a pivotal role in the Her Billionaire, Her Wolf series.

Claire's journey continues to unfold as she is forced to face that all these creatures that she believed were nothing more than myth are real. The vampire Caim awakens a hunger in her that she has no choice but to try to slake. Daniel's imprisonment, the twisted bonds of blood and family, and Claire's belief that her guardian will save her are all explored. I know I sound like a broken record, but have the next installment at hand because you'll want to know how our heroine gets our of the mess she's left in.

Claimed by the Wolf (Divine Fornication #3)
Synopsis (Goodreads):
From certain death at the hands of vampires, Claire Sawyer finds herself surrounded by hundreds of wolves.

Are they her saviors, or the culmination of the doom that follows her at every turn?

Cursed or no, Claire must fight for her survival, even if that means becoming one of them, wolves in heat with just one thing in mind.
My Thoughts: Part 3 lets us meet the wolves up close and personal (likable guys with a whole lot of sexin' on their mind). I LOVED that we get to see urban wolf Braze and how he fits in with his wilder brethren (Braze is the hero of the HB,HW series and I was super excited by all the threads in this story that spin off and pull together in that series).

Claire is consumed by the hunger that Caim has forced upon her. The wolves are determined to capture her to keep her out of the vampires' hands. For being a virgin not so very long ago, Claire has certainly found her sexual footing. I admire a woman who knows what she wants and isn't afraid to demand it.

Things are winding up toward the final confrontation and Claire's very existence is hanging in the balance. Next installment, please!

Redeemed by the Conqueror (Divine Fornication #4)
Synopsis (Goodreads):
In the stunning conclusion to the four part series, Divine Fornication, Claire Sawyer finds herself caught between vampires, werewolves and angels. Three races of beings willing to battle for the one thing they value most--Claire's eternal soul.

Will Claire's guardian angel return at last, in her final moments? Or, will she be lost forever to eternal damnation?
My Thoughts: Holy smokes! The battle over which supernatural faction will ultimately claim Claire heats up and the reasons behind how and why she was given her sight back are revealed. THINGS HAPPEN, PEOPLE! THINGS!

I really enjoyed this series as a whole. The mythology is dark and twisted -- which, of course, means that I found it fun and exciting. Claire goes from being a virginal woman who celebrates the little victories in her everyday life to a pivot point that all the supernatural critters want to get their hands on -- both sexually and for the power she holds. Several of the secondary characters have bigger roles in the HB,HW series (I love when that happens!) and it was very intriguing to see how these two series fit together.

All in all, this was a sexy, dark, explosive series that satisfied all my paranormal cravings. *thumbs up*
