Synopsis (Goodreads):
He's a bad-boy vampire feared the world over...

She's off limits...

Vampire and Crimson Operative Bhaltair hasn't always played for the side of good. He's walked a fine line throughout his immortally long life and has very few regrets. He's always had everything he ever wanted--that is until Meena. As a human descendant to the master vampire he serves, Meena isn't on the menu. That is until he learns he's in danger of losing her to another supernatural male.
Thoughts on Midnight Echoes: Ooooh, I liked this one. I liked it a lot. And since it's part of a very large world, I have LOTS to look forward to when I dive in.

Now, I'm not normally a fan of a hero making decisions for the good of the heroine. But. BUT. I kinda got where Bhaltair was coming from with his choice to stay away from Meena. I mean, the fact he could break bones and hurt her badly if he got a little too enthusiastic is a bit of a mood killer. But I also think he probably should have tried to explain things instead of just avoiding the lady.

FYI, I don't particularly like Meena's sister. Her attitude toward Meena set my teeth on edge.

But that's neither here nor there. I really liked the world. I liked how the two ended up together. *thumbs up*
