Synopsis (Goodreads):
When Vaughn Quaye’s older sister goes missing in Big Sky Country, she’s willing to risk everything to hunt down the only man who seems to know anything about the mysterious mail order bride agency that closed under suspicious circumstances. Except Vaughn is risking more than her life—she’s discovering a universe of danger and desire she never knew existed.

Dejo Jinn, sole proprietor of Jinn Data Recovery, just wants to steal—no, sorry, not steal, recover—the data left behind at the abandoned Intergalactic Dating Agency when it was forced to close after mistakenly losing some brides. He has no interest in revealing his extraterrestrialness to a clueless if distractingly curvy Earther, but after they are attacked and she sees his green blood, his secret is outed.

Now reluctant partners, he’ll have the chance to steal—sorry, recover—the valuable data and she’ll get her sister back. Assuming they don’t end up dead.

Or worse yet, end up dating.

The Intergalactic Dating Agency might be closed here in Big Sky Country, but some hearts are still dreaming of the stars.
Thoughts on After Burn: This is the second book by Elsa Jade I've read in the Intergalactic Dating Agency series and I am SO IN LOVE with her aliens. So in love. They just...make me giddy. Humanoid enough to be compatible with the earth women they come across, but still remarkably alien in so many ways. *draws glittery hearts around these guys*

Dejo intrigued me from the start. His species is avian-based and they had a few peculiarities that Vaughn had to work her head around--green blood being one of the least of them, it turns out. His existence from they time he reached maturity was pure heartbreak and I so SO wanted him to break out of the shell he'd been forced to build around himself (not a literal shell, just so we're clear, but an emotional one) and let go with Vaughn.

When he did...*more glittery hearts*

Vaughn, meanwhile, is dealing with an overload of information. She's adrift after what happened on her job, her sister's missing and no one seems to be looking for her, and she just found out aliens are real. Yeah. She has a few mental adjustments to make in order to stay in the game. Honestly, she adapts well. Considering what's at stake if she doesn't, that's understandable, though.

We got exciting setup for the next series (those black hole brides are still out there, man!) and some cameos by characters we've met before. I'm putting catching up with this series on my to-do list, btw. I want more and I'm not going to deprive myself!
