Synopsis (Goodreads):
This cyborg never expected to become an instant father.

Surge is fascinated with newly manufactured offspring. He has studied them extensively, was one of the few medics present when the very first freeborn cyborg entered the universe.

He’s currently assigned to a battle station with an all-male crew. The probability of tending to an offspring is a dismal 0.0000 percent.

That changes when an unknown ship ventures into the sector they’re protecting.

Nu is an extremely exhausted single mom with a fussy newborn daughter. She has no time or energy for anyone or anything else. That includes a cyborg medic with gentle hands, brilliant blue eyes, and a voice deeper than space.

He claims she’s his female, the one being genetically designed for him. She has heard those types of declarations in the past.

Only a warrior without equal—and some much-needed rest—would prompt this universe-weary mom to believe in romantic love again.
Thoughts on Passion Surge: MAN, I love how devoted these cyborgs are to offspring. They don't care if the children are their children or not, they don't care about the circumstances behind their birth, they only care that they have someone to protect and adore. I'm not even talking about ONE of the cyborgs. ALL OF THEM ADORE CHILDREN. It's sweet and kind of awesome, especially since they were originally created specifically to destroy and yet they all have this deeply ingrained urge to nurture.

All the cyborgs are getting massive *heart eyes* right now. From the grumpiest right on down to the most easygoing.

This time around, Surge not only finds his special someone, but ends up with a newborn daughter as well. Honestly, the guy couldn't be happier. Heck, the entire battle station couldn't be happier. That kiddo is SERIOUSLY going to be the most spoiled child ever with a couple thousand doting uncles raising her.

As for Nu, the circumstances behind why she's struck out on her own with a new baby aren't terrible, by any means. She did what she thought she needed to do to protect her family. She's trying to be the best mother and daughter she can be and the demands of new motherhood are knocking her back. Surge's offer to help is much appreciated and Nu quickly comes to the realization that a cyborg isn't like any other male she's ever known. They don't lie and they protect what is precious to them with everything they're capable of.

And they're capable of a lot.

These cyborgs, man. They're great. It doesn't matter if they're taking out their enemies or changing a diaper, that give it their all.
