Synopsis (Goodreads):
He's ready for his mate. Wants her. Needs her.
But will she ever want him back?

Brilliant scientist. Dedicated doctor.

But beneath that cold, blue, analytical exterior beats a hungry heart.

He's watched the other warriors meet their mates. And he can't wait to meet his own. Taste her. Claim her.

But when she arrives, she's not like anything he ever imagined. And unless he's smarter than he's ever been before, he's going to lose her.

Addie James has run out of options.

She's had to learn to protect her heart. Keep her emotions safe, hidden.

Better not to have any at all.

But when fate throws her into the path of a giant, horned blue skinned alien, can she resist letting him in?
Thoughts on Javik: It's the good doctor's turn to find his mate and he's...kinda arrogant (because he's legitimately usually the smartest person in the room and he knows it) and totally ready to connect his life with his chosen one. Except Addie is just there to fulfill the terms of the mating contract, collect her payday, and head home. Which makes things a little rough for the big, blue guy.

Honestly, while I understand where Addie's idea to do whatever it took to get her money came from (being dirt poor with no one but herself to rely on means she simply doesn't know how to lean on others when she needs to), her approach to seducing Javik just so she could get pregnant was a little off putting. It took her a while to see him as more than the other half of the baby making machine and OUCH. Understandably, Javik took that hard.

The mystery of what the egg/artifact is gets cleared up, but not without a whole lot of collateral style damage. Javik and Addie get to see some interesting places in the galaxy, shed a  little blood, and, you know, create a slice of a new reality. As one does.

The crew members of the Calliope are now all fully mated and their mission completed. Here's to hoping they don't get hammered too hard for the way everything turned out.
