Synopsis (Goodreads):
The human race is dying under the red comet soaring through the skies above...and with it, the sounds of dragons are in the air.

My name is Aida, and I was destined to lead the Sand’s Hunter tribe into a new generation—promised to mate with one of the last born males along the Mermaid Coast. But before Leith was delivered to my tribe, my younger sister came of age and the elders chose her to be his mate instead.

Then a messenger came from the north with rumors of dragons turning into virile males from a single, human touch. Fresh hope blooms within me as I plan to reclaim my rightful place as future matriarch to my people, and with that hope, I ready my supplies to hunt down one of these dragons to make my own. To touch him, to claim him, to take his seed and honor my people with a new generation.

But a storm is on the horizon.

And with that storm, soars an alpha dragon in heat. He’s heading straight for me.
He sees me.

All my plans crumble under his dark draconian stare.
Thoughts on To Mate a Dragon: You know, Aida might have been passed over on being a bride, but I really think she got the better of the deal when it all went down. (In a convoluted explanation, she was originally supposed to be Issa's brother's mate, but was inexplicably passed over and her younger [super spoiled] sister took her place. So she wasn't exactly in the best headspace when this story began. Still, she ended up with the better man, so who's the winner in the end?)

Following in her BFF Issa's footsteps...actually, Aida didn't really follow in her footsteps, did she? Zaeyr ended up coming to her (although he didn't know it at the time) and she just went with her instincts and snagged herself a dragon. A big, old-as-dirt dragon who had to wrap his head around suddenly being bonded to a human.

Yeah. Dragon/human relationships tend to start out a little rocky, don't they? Yet, the dragon always comes through in the end. And the idea of leaving their bonded and hooking up with someone else? NOT IN THE CARDS, PEOPLE. They are one woman dragons and that's that.

A little tribal politics, a spoiled brat of a sister, a woman trying to find her purpose after her world came crashing down, and a dragon with a chip on his shoulder. I like watching these dragons come to terms with their new reality A LOT.
