Synopsis (Goodreads):
It’s been eight years since the red comet flew across our skies. Eight years since the blood moon. No dragon has been seen or heard from since.

Until now.

As one of the guardians of my tribe, I’m known as Milaye, a Protector of the Mermaid Coast. I’ve never had the honor of consideration as a future matriarch or a match for one of the rare males born near the Forbidden Jungle. I’ve kept my wishes hidden—despite my envy for my fellow tribemates who are happily mated.

I’ve lost hope for such a life long ago.
But one day, my ward flees into a long lost cave deep beneath the jungle brush. A cave, I soon realize, that holds a long-dead giant monster.

A dragon.

But he isn’t really dead after all…
Thoughts on To Wake a Dragon: Oh, I like these dragons. There's borderline feral and they're VERY territorial and I JUST LIKE THEM. That said, Drazak isn't quite as lost in his animal side as some of the others. Maybe because he's been poisoned and trapped underground with only himself for company. He knows his end is near and he's sort of become resigned to it and...actually, that sounds like a great recipe for a dragon embracing his animal side, but Drazak is pretty lucid, all things considered.

Milaye might be overwhelmed when she finds what she thinks is a dragon's corpse, but she's...I don't know how to put it. Even though she thinks he's dead, she's careful because she knows that touching a dragon binds them to her and, as much as she might desire a male of her own, she won't trap someone that way. Yet, THINGS HAPPEN and suddenly Milaye has a poisoned dragon who's decidedly NOT dead bound to her.

Two people trying to find middle ground to make things work. More than one territorial dragon. A transformation of EPIC proportions. And a naga boy who is just trying to make his way on his own. Yep, I like these dragons and the ladies who worm their way into their hearts. *thumbs up*

The Tropical Dragons Box Set also includes the short story Naga and YES! Haime and Iskursu get their time to shine. He's the naga boy Haime followed into the caves where Milaye found Drazak. She's been fascinated with him ever since, but he's of the mind that a naga can't be with a human. Except Haime is half dragon and she's ABSOLUTELY able to take everything he has to offer. Short, sweet, and very worth it.
