Synopsis (Goodreads):
Welcome to Mystic Bayou, a tiny town hidden in the swamp where shape-shifters, vampires, witches, and dragons live alongside humans. The town formed around the mysterious energy rift in the bayou, which helps keep the town's magic in balance. But lately the rift has been widening and destabilizing - threatening to send the town's magical population into chaos.

Energy witch Danica Teel has been sent by the League to figure out what's going on, with the help of bear-shifter Mayor Zed. While working on the case, Zed falls head over paws for Dani, but she's reluctant to engage in anything beyond a roll in his cave. Dani's family is counting on her to get the job done, and she has no time for distractions. But when an ominous presence begins stalking Dani through the bayou, they'll need to band together to make it out alive.
Thoughts on Love and Other Wild Things: Heh. Danica and Zed. That's right, Zed, the burly bear-shifting mayor, gets his chance to woo his newly discovered lady love. The catch? Dani doesn't really do the relationship thing and Zed's not quite sure how to handle that. Because the dude wants her in a forever sort of way.

Yeah, they have a few speedbumps to work on before they get where they need to be.

Not to mention the whole thing with the rift. And, you know, someone trying to horn in on Dani's job. Plus there's someone trying to kill her. Not to point any fingers, but acute bodily harm to individuals seems to happen quite a lot around town. The Mayor should look into that.

A bear who wants to lure his lady friend into his den, a lady with commitment issues, a WHOLE LOT of wackiness going on with the rift, and some excellent pie. Good stuff all around.
