Synopsis (Goodreads):
Freshly sprung from witch jail, Winnie Foster just has to fulfill the conditions of her parole and she's home free.

Too bad that parole takes place in Paris. (Texas!) Where she'll work at a school for the magically inclined. (KIDS!) And be forced to endure the ex who's one of the very reasons she landed in the pokey to begin with. (GAH!!)

Bratty tots, sexy ex, timed showers, creepy dolls, magic restrictions and a GPS with an attitude, all wrapped in a Texas town hotter than the surface of the sun? Oh yeah. No way this could go wrong...
Thoughts on Witched at Birth: Okay. I'm not exactly sure how I feel about Winnie because she went from SUPER shallow and kind of grating to an okay person, but the SUPER shallow part wasn't enjoyable. While the argument could be made that she grew as a character and such, SUPER SHALLOW.

So, yeah. I didn't like Winnie when we first met her. She was so OTT and catty that I couldn't imagine her with anyone at all, much less someone as (mostly) likeable as Ben. (The 'mostly' part stems from him not telling Winnie about the timer on the shower. Some things are sacred and having the time and supplies to fully wash your hair is HIGH on my list. AS IT SHOULD BE!)

Taking all my griping about Winnie in the beginning into account, I did like that she found her footing. She was an epic hot mess (both literally and figuratively) and it took a little danger, a lot of self-control, and finding something she cared about more than herself to give her a chance to shine.
