Synopsis (Goodreads):
Hiding from her problems as she vacations at a beach house, Gloria's only concerns are walking her dog, relaxing by the pool, and kayaking. Then she spots a strange sea-creature stalking her as she paddles around a secluded cove.

Little does she know the mysterious creature is a tentacle alien!

Lu cannot help but follow this pretty Earth-Human around while he is waiting for rescue. He knew that humans were adorable, but this one draws his attention and entrances him. He never intended to reveal himself, but everything changes when the object of his fascination is attacked and he must intervene to save her.
Thoughts on Chasing Cthulhu: Not going to lie, I have genuinely enjoyed how besotted both Lu and Seven have become with their humans. I mean, they may be massive, tentacled aliens on the surface, but they're pure marshmallow underneath. And I'm here for it.

Lu's special lady friend is Gloria and she's not in a great place when Lu first comes across her. She's laying low and Lu has to enact some violence on people who want to do her harm. Then they get abducted (yes, Lu, an alien, gets abducted by aliens. Heh.) and a series of miscommunications and missed opportunities has them separated once they get free.

Which Lu is 100% not okay with. So he works with Mandy to make sure his special someone makes it back to his side. While these Homeworlders and possessive and a little obsessive, they're also extremely careful not to cross lines that have been set for them. Which means that miscommunication from before leaves Lu thinking Gloria wants nothing to do with him (despite her agreeing to join him on Mandy's ship) and has him skulking about incognito.

Then things get even more hairy when Gloria goes missing and forces conspire to keep the two of them apart. Forces include (but are not limited to) slavers, judiciary committees, another human, and bounty hunters. Look, there's a lot going on here and yet Gloria and Lu find time to get over their miscommunication and hook up in a big way.

Like I said, I'm genuinely enjoying how these big, terrifying aliens just go gaga over their special someone.
