Synopsis (Goodreads):
It’s instinct that drives Finn Malone to rescue a bunch of hard battling honey badgers. The Siberian tiger shifter just can’t bear to see his fellow shifters harmed. But no way can Finn have a houseful of honey badgers when he also has two brothers with no patience. Things just go from bad to worse when the badgers rudely ejected from his home turn out to be the only ones who can help him solve a family tragedy. He’s just not sure he can even get back into the badgers’ good graces. Since badgers lack graces of any kind . . .Thoughts on Breaking Badger: Not going to lie, these honey badgers tickle my fancy in a BIG way. They're just so nonchalantly vicious and prone to surviving things that would kill ANYBODY (shifters included) else. And the MacKilligans? HOO-BOY! They're over the top about just about everything and they would cheerfully kill anyone or thing that threatens their family and they somehow end up being a bucket of fun.
Mads knows her teammates aren’t about to forgive the cats that were so rude to them, but moody Finn isn’t so bad. And he’s cute! The badger part of her understands Finn’s burning need to avenge his father’s death—after all, vengeance is her favorite pastime. So Mads sets about helping Finn settle his family’s score, which has its perks, since she gets to avoid her own family drama. Besides, fighting side by side with Finn is her kind of fun—especially when she can get in a hot and heavy snuggle with her very own growling, eye-rolling, and utterly irresistible kitty-cat . . .
This book focuses on one of Max MacKilligan's teammates. I'd call Mads a friend, but these honey badgers (with the exception of one) seem to avoid that word like the plague. Anywho. Mads and Finn. She's a honey badger/hyena hybrid who's all Viking. He's a Siberian tiger on a mission to find out who killed his father.
Let's just say the Malone brothers need the help of the honey badger information highway to find out what they want to know and they're going to have to make nice with those wild ladies one way or another. Finn, as it turns out, is not against making nice with Mads AT ALL.
A whole lot of bloodshed (because honey badgers don't do subtle or quiet or anything of that ilk), family by choice, an unexpected jaunt around the globe, a few familiar faces, and a few steamy encounters in a house Mads did NOT get to decorate herself (which is probably fortunate given what we know about her). I enjoy spending time with these madcap shifters and their wild adventures.
